Maria Balon was the daughter of Andras Balon and Anna Boszak in Zborov, northeastern Slovakia (then part of the Austro-Hungarian empire). Andras was the son of Andreas Ballon and Maria Tulik in Zborov. He married Anna Boszak (dtr. of Joseph and Susan) on Jan. 16, 1877, in Zborov. He was 24, she was 16.

I believe this Balon family is related to my Balon family (maternal great grandmother's fam), since they're from the same small town, but the records are so spotty I can't prove it.

The Demkoviches also can be found in the Zborov records. I've been there, but I did all my research in the U.S. through the LDS Church.
