Deb,

Thanks for the reply

It looks like there may be a connection here, but I don't have enough info on Baltzer's to tie it together. Plus, the info I do have on them is not documented.

Here is all the info I have on Baltzer (Baltzli), as the connection with the Baltzer family is through Samuel Hamilton Palmer, who married Mary, the daughter of Jacob/John Balsey II, who was born in Fayette Co Pa. 1776, his wife's name was either Ann Grey, or Ann Collins. His father, Jacob/John Balsey/Baltzer I, was born in Holland in l725, died in Fayette Co. PA, in 1809.

Jacob/John Balsey/Baltzer the 1st, was married twice; one wife was named Frances Mnu, whom he married in 1747. Francis died abt 1828 in Fayette County, PA. His father was Niklaus Baltzer (Baltzli) b. before 1690 in Brazel, Switzerland, moved to and died in Holland.

The above, plus the info I have on Palmer's is posted on my web site at:
http://www.delcochran.com/Cochran_Family_Tree/Palmer_Branch....

Do you have any info on Jacob that will tie into what I have on him?

I also sent you an e-mail.

Thanks,

DelC

The Arner Family Association seeks descendants of:

ANNA MARIE BALTZER, Harrison Arner, 1850-1899, Bethlehem; Easton; Forks, Northampton, PA.

You are almost certainly descendants of Hans Ulrich Arner and Verena Eberhardt, 1735 immigrants from Switzerland to Philadelphia. Join us for an August 24-25, 2002 gathering in beautiful Lehigh County, Pennsylvania (1 hour north of Philadelphia). For “reunion” information or to see where you fit into the *rner family, visit Joe Erner’s website at www.geocities.com/~erner/gen/arner which documents the Arner/Aner family to the 1500s, or contact us through the Arner Listserv at ARNER-L@rootsweb.com. We’re planning two fun-filled days including a catered Pennsylvania Dutch luncheon and the dedication of a memorial stone in the Heidelberg Union Church cemetery to honor the immigrants. Help us widen our circle of cyber-cousins and plan to attend. We welcome you.

You can email me direct at Delc@sentco.net. Thanks, Del Cochran

My understanding is that Baltzli eventually became Pelsy in Alsace Lorraine France and as it is spelled today. My ggrandfather was Joseph Pelsy, Sr. His father was Nicholas. Originally from Spain. I have more info.

Joseph Baltzer, Rock Island IL

I'm looking for family of my Uncle Joe (by marriage), who is also the grandfather of
my adopted daughter Kimberley. Joe was
born 3 Mar 1907 in Alsace-Lorraine, France, but was ethnically German. I remember interviewing him as an 8th grader as a class project. Sadly, I retained
little. I think he had a brother who was a
boxer. I think he lived in Elgin IL as a child
or teen. I know he had several sisters and
brothers but can only remember Annie. He
died in Rock Island IL in June 1982. Any
help is appreciated. jbarnett@megsinet.net

I am researching my family tree. It gets a little
foggy when it gets back to Dorthea Baltzer. From
what i know she immigrated to Colorado alone from
Germany or Russia and was the mother of Andreas
Baltzer who eventually moved to North Dakota and married
Carolina Strobel. If anyone has any info about her or if
they have a different name for Dorthea, it would
be greatly appreciated. As you can see i don't have
much.
