John B and Marie E Balzer of Peoria, IL

I've just returned from a 5 day trip to Peoria, IL to research my family. I was delighted to find John B Balzer (1837-1898) and his wife Marie E Heights Balzer (1843-1930) buried in the Springdale Cemetery there. Someone had planted flowers on the grave so there's someone else out there who is a descendant. So I am looking for that horticulturally inclined kin! I know you're out there! Russel or George Balzer?

I have that Russel C. Balzer was born 1 Aug 1905. He married Patricia Bewshea of Australia in Cuyahoga County, OH. Russel died May 1904. They adopted two children

I have that George was his brother. He married Evelyn and had two children Fred and Christine. Christine may have later married.

I was born Balzer in King Williams Town. My grandfather was Adolf Balzer born and grew up in Izele just outside KWT. My dad Ernest Balzer would be able to fill you in on family history, he been documenting the Balzer ancestry for many years and has access to the St John Lutheran Church records where the Balzer family has always worshipped.

George Balzer age 50 (b.abt.1836) declared his intention to become a US Citizen Aug 13 1888 in Montgomery OH (Record 563). He claims to have immigrated from Bremen May 6, 1886 and arrived Baltimore May 20, 1886. I can find him in no other record. A Johanna Balzer b.23 Oct 1866 married August W. Quedeweit in Montgomery Co 22 Mar 1888. This would have put her about the right age to be George's daughter. No record has been found by me after the Declaration for citizenship for George. Am interested in sharing info with others who might be interested in this family.

So far I have found that he comes from a place named Schlemmin in Northern Germany I have a old photo that has the schlemmin church (kirche) and part of the schlemmin castle on it. The stories that my dad tells his sister and Norb Balzer seem to tie up the loose ends on EC's father Johann Balzer Craig

My ggrandfather came to US in 1880's. I have not found when. His name was Patrick McGladrigan and he was born
in Tyrone, Ireland about 1864. His parents were Thomas
McGladrigan and Elizabeth Cullen. He married Margaret
Clair and their children were Phoebe Clair McGladrigan and
Thomas Benjamin McGladrigan. There were babies that
died in infancy. Most of this info I was given by Catholic
Church in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

I can put you in touch with someone who is also a
McGladrigan in Australia that I have been communicating
and sharing information with over the past year.

Johana Balzer b.23Oct1866 in Germany (Possibly Prussia) married August W. Quedeweit abt.1888 and lived in Dayton, Montgomery Co., OH and had 9 children (Fred, Anna, Albert, Emma, Lewis, Minnie, Marie, Johanna[stillborn] & 1 other who did not survive to 1900). It appears likely Johanna and a Female relative Henrietta Balzer (Mother?) immigrated together on the Weser from Bremen, Ger to Baltimore arriving Aug 1887 as that matches exactly other Census and other info. Another Balzer couple, George and Florentine/Florantine Balzer married in Germany about 1896 and immigrated abt 1897 and lived in Dayton in 1900 and 1910. I speculate all these Balzer’s are related in some way. August Quedeweit was born in (phonetic spelling) Tielset, East Prussia, Germany. I have been unable to locate where Tielset actually is to date. It was so common for German immigrants to marry those from the same area. George and Florentine state for the 1910 census they were from Prussia, Germany.

Hi, Im searching for information on Magdalina Balzer her Father was Johann Balzer. Magdalina married Johannas Fauser not sure what date but my gggrandfather was Ulrich Fauser and i'm trying to find out if Johannas was Ulrichs brother, I haven't been able to find out any infomation on Ulrichs ancestry accept that his fathers name is simon fauser the same as Johannas. Trying to locate Richard Balzer, known as Dickie as a child, who lived on Moen Lake, near Rhinelander, Oneida County, Wisconsin circa late 1940's, early 1950's. Probably born between 1940 and 1946; in 2006 would be in his early 60's. His father worked at local drug store, possibly as a pharmacist. Sorry not to have more details.
I am daughter of Alan E. Pradt and Marie Wendland Pradt and lived on this lake, on Woodpecker Lane, until 1953, then in the town of Rhinelander. .

E. Charles Balzer (1877-1953) landscape gardener Spokane, Washington

I am interested in an E. Charles Balzer, born September 12, 1877, in Germany, who immigrated to the United States in 1896, and became a naturalized citizen in 1901. He apparently lived for a while in Missouri where his son Charles A. was born, and Minnesota, where sons Walter W., Frank E., were born. Walter and Charles became landscape architects as well. His wife Mathilda (Mary) was a native of Missouri. They had a daughter, S. Elise, who was born in Washington.

He served as the first superintendent of Montrose (now Manito) Park in Spokane. In 1910 he was listed as a real estate salesman in the census. In 1930 he was the manager of the nursery. He died in Riverside, California, on Dec. 5, 1953.

I'm looking for lineage of Marie Balzer who was from the Alsase-Loraine area of France and believed to have married Christopher Banzet of either Fouday or Bellefosse area of France. This is circa 1650's. They did not come America.
Their daughter Marie married Sebastian Caquelin of Waldersbach, France. She stayed , but he made the trip to America with children.

My ancestors John and Mary Balzer were German immigrants who started out in NYC and moved to Lasalle Illinois where they had at least the following children:

I just recently started on my long journey of researching the family tree, I was needing information on the cornelius or kornelius baltzer/balzer family, I know that he married Anna Kliever,Baltzer,Then she married a Jantzen. Her and Cornelieus got married on October 18, 1880, and they had 7 children, Marie,Hulda,Henry,Manda,Mathilda,Luella, and another boy that I haven't found a name for yet! I know that they came they immigrated to America and their place of living was Hillsboro, Kansas. after 17 years they moved to Oklahoma, and settled on a farm south of Fairview. I am not sure when Cornelius Baltzer/Balzer was born but i do know that he died November 18, 1901. Any Information will greatly be appreciated.

He married Irene Helen Czirr she was married before Elmer they both have childern Carla Balzer which is my mother, Tom Balzer, Jerry Balzer, Roger Balzer, M. Balzer which she died. My ggggrandfather Theodore Balzer was born in ger. his wife was Christine Schnutz.
there one child i know of my gggrandfather was Ludwig Balzer also born in Germany. Ludwig was born March 21, 1838 and died June 25, 1911 in Dane Co. Wisconsin. His wife was Agnus Smith (Schmitz) born in Ger.

MATHIAS was the son of Philipp Balzer and Maria Kleinbauer. He married on 3 June 1885 in Fraulautern (today part of Saarlouis) Anna Witzmann was born Anna Witzmann was born in Wallerfangen and was the daughter of Peter Witzmann and Anna Winter in Wallerfangen. Their first child Andreas was born on 19 Jun 1886 in Pachten (today part of Dillingen/Saar).

Mathias Baltzer naturalized in Racine on Nov 7, 1904 name spelled Baltzer.
Went to Racine Wisc in Aug 1887 and returned to Germany in Nov 1889, wife was homesick.

My great grandfather Henry Balzer was born in Prussia, but when was he born and where was he born? He had two wives, the second one named Caroline. The had at least three siblings. One being my grandfather William Balzer. Wm married Anna Kalke in Prussia. They immigrated to the USA around the turn of the century. Don't know on what ship or which port they came to. They settled in Michigan.

My father John Francis Balzer (wife Margaret Hines, children, John, James, and Dorothy) was born in Philadelphia, PA on March 28, 1912 (?). His father was Louis Balzer, mother Winifred Agnes Mullen Balzer. My father had a brother James(wife Evelyn,they had 3 daughters, I think, Winnie(Shawn & Kathy) Barbara called Babs, last I knew she was in California, sisters Marian(unmarried), Cecelia(unmarried) and Ethel(Gill). As well as residing in Phila., they also lived in Wildwood, NJ where my parents met, married and lived until their deaths. Other family names I remember are Gill, Flattery??? I would love to know more, my father's side of the family didn't really share too much info. I do know that they came from Germany, but I don't know when.

I am looking for any information on George and Margaretta Balzer who lived in Waukesha in the late 1800's/early 1900's. They had a daughter named Catherine Wilhemena (Minnie) Balzer who died in 1899. Minnie was married to August Guis. They had four children: August, Kenneth, Anne and Dora (my grandmother). The Balzer family attended the Evangelical & Reformed Lutheran Church in Waukesha. George Frederick Balzer was listed in the 1860 Utica Co. N.Y. census, age 1 yr., born in N.Y., with his parents Frederick Lewis Elzabeth (Zimmerman) Balzer, both born in Germany. The family "dissapears" from the census for 40 yrs until George Balzer is listed on the Northampton Co. PA census in 1900 along with his first wife Kate Finley Balzer.
