Hello,
I've just discovered a large section of my line of the Bambace family but still need to find the connection to those still in Italy. If you have any info on the Bambace family in Reggio Calabria and wouldn't mind connecting, please let me know. I would be happy to share what I've learned about my family that emmigrated here around 1900.
Thanks,
Ken

Hello Giuseppe,
It's been a long time. I've just discovered a large section of my family tree from the oldest living Bambace (from my line). If you are still around please let me know. You had some great info years ago about our connection to the Bambaces from Cannitello.

DaPrato families

Hi Giuseppe: Sorry to bother you. I am looking for DaPrato families in the Torino area, etc. My DaPrato's all came from the region of Tuscany not far from Lucca and Florence. I have a Lorenzo DaPrato born in Feletto, Torino who married Eleanora Coch on 29 Apr. 1759. It is possible that some of these DaPrato's emigrated to the Torino area seeking work. Any kind of info would be appreciated. Thank you. Il mio bis nono se chiamava Severino DaPrato da Loppia, piccolo paese vicino Barga. Jacqueline

BAMBACE Family Tree

Hi Ken, my name is Giuseppe (Joseph) and I live in Torino Italy. Iwas so pleased and excited to read your e-mail on the message board. I'm also trying to build the Famly Tree, I will send you the info I could gather as of today. Even though the BAMBACE's are living in many Italian regions, the place of origin is on the Calabria coast of the Messina straight, in tiny villages like Porticello and Cannitello (where my parents come from). I would also like to know more about the American branch of the family, but unfortunately a few years after my grandfather's sister Giovanna BAMBACE emigrated to NY in the late 10's or early 20's every info was lost. I only know that her second husband's surname was ZAGARDO. She had three sibils : Felice, Angela and Giuseppe (my grandfather). As far as I know, also her brother Felice went to NY, but he passed away when he was very young, while Angela and Giuseppe never left Cannitello. I would be extremly glad if we could keep in touch and work together to build our Family Tree. I do not have a PC at home, but you can mail me at work, my address is "cantieri.hunter@fatagroup.it".I'm looking forward to hea from you soon. Ciao, Giuseppe

Hi Ken, my dad told me that his dad said that he had long-distance cousins in Porticello, Calabria-second or third cousins.
My grandfather emigrated to Montreal,Canada in 1951 from Villa San Giovanni, Calabria. Perhaps, your family emigrated to New York recently
before my grandfather came here, because hhad heard that some of his family had emigrated to New York.
For the record, my grandfather's name was Antonio Bambace
married to Domenica De Cicco, my dad is Clemente Bambace and has three other siblings:Caterina Pisegna(nee Bambace), Grazia Ferreira (nee Bambace),
and Antonino Bambace.
