Joyce: I know that your mrssage is a few months old but just found it. My Bamber family came from Bamber Bridge, Lancaster,
England about 1800 (as did most Bambers) traveled across U S country. My father said they were in Penn then Manitou, Isle, where my Grpa was born. He married an Ontario, canadian girl. My Canadian cousins told me that our Bambers were consisdered to be Pennsylvania Dutch which is another name for German. My Canadian Grma's family was in Hastings County, Ontario were settlers in a Dutch Farming community where Dad, his four older brothers all my 25 or more cousins were b. reared.
So you see there are a lot of Bambers in
Hastings County, Canada.
