You're welcome
It just all might come down to pronounciation.
We know that your ancestor Toma BAN was going to MARKOVIC.
I see your research being in Croatia. Do post on Croatia's board for further help with the research. Check in LDS-Family History Center site for church records from this location.

Ban, Toma Prapotnik, Hungary 25 1888 1913
Toma was in US 2 previous times so wonder if he needed to be naturalized or not. Shipping clerk made an error maybe. Toma is listed single but he left a husband: Maria BAN. I'm sure an error.

Prapotnik, Yugoslavia

I'm trying to find the location of a town where an ancestor was born and raised and which he left to come to the US. His nationality is given a Croatian. The town, from 1891 to 1913 or a little later, was called Prapotnik, Yugoslavia. Spelling of the town varied. Any help would be appreciated. His name was Toma (Thomas) Ban, and his wife was Maria.

Hi! My GrandFather was Rudio Ban, from Western PA (originally from Austria, though I think he was really from Eastern Europe). He never really spoke about his family but my father said that he did mention having sisters, one of whom lived in Ohio. I am wondering if perhaps your Grandmother was my GrandFathers sister?

Im sure this is a longshot. My GrandFather's name was Rudio Ban, and was from Austria. I can't find ANYTHING about him or any of his family members. He lived in Western PA, and Ive heard rumours that he had family (sisters?) in Ohio. I don't know if any of this helps you, but I thought I'd take a shot.

Ban, Klobuchar/Klobucar

Hello--My grandfather, Andrew Klobuchar married his first wife, Mary Ban, from Austria/Croatia. They came to the US--to Indiana Harbor(East Chicago), Indiana where they had a son, Peter ,in 1909. The 1910 census shows that they were married in 1908 which is the year Mary came to the US--my grandfather coming previously in 1905. . Mary did not live long as my grandfather married his second wife Anna Plesha in 1913 when he brought her to the US. My grandfather, was from a village in Croatia/Austria called Kosinj--Mary may have been from there as well--I don't know. I am looking for any information on Mary--I especially am looking for anyone related to her. Their son ,Peter, is still alive and living in Munster, Indiana. He will be 98 years old ths November. Thanks.
