She married William Crombie and both were from Scotland and that's about all I know. She was born about 1828 and he was born 1826. They immigrated to the US sometime between birth and 1856. I'm assuming right after getting married.
William was a cabinet maker if that helps at all.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Banes, James married Druscilla

I am so excited to find one of our Banes relatives. My Grandfather, Herbert Banes, was the son of Frank Creed Banes, a bother to your James R. Banes. I guess that makes us cousins. Do you know where James was born, town and county? Also when he married Druscilla? I have been trying to get more information on their father, William Kirk Banes. Maybe I can help you with some info on some of the other brothers and sisters. Hope to hear soon.

William b. 21, March, 1837 , Pa. and married Rhoda Wilson Sims. His brother, Wilson H. married Lucinda Sims. Do you know the date of when Lewis died? I think their mothers name was Elizabeth Ann Mc Dowell. Hope this helps!!
Looking for information about Elizabeth L. Banes, who died in June, 1912, probably in Washington, D.C. She seems to have been closely connected with the Lyles family, as the legal notice of her will names Thomas B. Lyles, Fanny Lyles Crawford, Elizabeth Lyles Stewart, Cecile Lyles, Sidney Lyles, and others: perhaps the L stands for Lyles, but I know of no Lyles/Banes marriage.

Seems doctors run in the Banes family. More than one research is looking for the parents of William Banes, who was born in PA around 1802 and is listed in the 1850 White Co, IN census as a physician. His son, Lewis, also became a physician per the 1870 census. Does William fit in your family anywhere?

Hannah was born 23 Oct 1784, daughter of
my ancestor William and Rebecca (Hibbs) Trego.

Isaac and family were in Bucks Co, in 1810 census, Harford Co, MD in 1820 census, back to Bucks Co, in 1830, then to Clinton Co, OH. Unsure of where Isaac and Hannah died...either Clinton Co, OH or Indiana. Thanks for your info on marriages for Thomas and Watson....I didn't have either. I believe that Watson's middle name was Trego....a nephew of Hannah's, Watson P. Trego b.1805 was a doctor in Bucks Co, and she may have named her son after him...who knows.

Donald R Banes, White Co IN killed in South Pacific WW2

Donals R. Banes of White County Indiana died December 18, 1944, while in the South Pacific during World War II. He is officially listed as killed in action and is missing or buried at sea. His name appears on the “Tablets of the Missing” at the Manila American Cemetery in the Philippines. We are seeking information regarding his military and civilian life.

I am a retired Hoosier from Madison County residing in the Philippines with my Filipino wife. We are seeking family and military information about servicemen from your county killed in the South Pacific during World War II. There are 17,206 Americans buried here and thousands more that are missing or buried at sea and are honored on the “Tablets of the Missing”. Please visit our website to see the beautiful memorial located in Manila, Philippines.

http://fizkid.tripod.com/

My wife and I visited the cemetery as visitors and left with a mission in our heart. We have been taking photographs of the graves of the Indiana servicemen buried here and have been uniting them (at no charge) with their family members in Indiana and across the United States. To receive the photo of your family member, neighbor or friend all you need is a working email address. We do not send them to regular mailing addresses due to the costs. Please help us find the families of the men that might still be living. Our project is only successful because of teamwork and your contributions are noted on our website. If you wish to help us we will be pleased to add your name to our ACKNOWLEDGMENT page on the website. The obituaries usually did not appear till to three months after the death date.

If you are not a genealogist you can help by just picking up the telephone directory and find someone with the same last name and give them a call. It has worked many times for us.

Zenas5@yahoo.com

Sincerely,

Dave and Apple Dwiggins
San Pablo City, Philippines
