She was born on May 31, 1919 in Dunnstown, a daughter of the late Milton H. and Stella VonGunden Probst.
On July 18, 1948 she married Charles R. "Dick" Baney, who died May 8, 1984.
Martha had worked for Clinton Paper Co. for 36 years, retiring in 1981.
She was a 50-plus year member of the Dunnstown United Methodist Church and had been a member of the United Methodist Women, the Order of Eastern Star #275 in Lock Haven, and a former member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem.
She was known for her sense of humor and her giving nature. She helped many of her nieces and nephews over the years and will be missed by many.
Surviving are a stepdaughter, Patricia Rosato and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were a son, David L. Ohlander who died at 6 months of age in 1940, and a stepson, Ronald Baney who died in 1999. also preceding her were six bothers, George VonGunden, Russell, Woodrow (Jiggs), Frances (Prune), Paul (Weiner) and Jack (Till); and three sisters, Edith (Bunny) Sands, Ruth (Toots) Bowes and Mary Haines.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012 in the Dean K. Wetzler Jr. Funeral Home, 320 Main St., Mill Hall, with her pastor, Rev. Roger Yoder officiating. Burial will be in Dunnstown Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral.
Memorials may be made to the Dunnstown United Methodist Church.
