My grandmother's maiden name was Bania. Her name was Katarzynia. She was born in Dzielice, Poland, was baptised in the nearby village of Cieklin. She came to the U.S. in 1909 and settled in Chicago. She lived with an uncle (surname of Jendryczki) and his family. She married Maciej Zychowski (of Dulabka, Poland) in 1912. She had 2 brothers that we know of, one was Michael and the other brother's name is unknown. It is believed that the the latter brother was in the military and died in Siberia. We know of only one sister and her name is Anna. It is unknown whether she came to the U.S. or stayed in Poland.
