Donald E. Bankes, 65, 1610 Spring Garden Ave., Berwick, was dead on arrival at Berwick Hospital Saturday at 2:50 p.m.
He was born in Berwick, February 15, 1913, the son of the late Benjamin and Sarah Baker Bankes. He was married to Mildred Ferris on January 30, 1942.
He was an electrician employed at AC&F, and later the Yeager Wireworks of Berwick, retired in 1970 because of ill health.
He served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps during World War II.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Walter (Patricia) Jessup, Elmira, N.Y. and Mrs. Donald (Donna) Folk, Berwick; one son, David B., Beach Haven; brothers and sisters, Willard, Nescopeck, Leo, Cletus and Harry, all of Berwick, Mrs. Charles (Evelyn) Lynch, Nescopeck RD1, Woodrow, Enidicott, N.Y.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from teh Robert N. Hindman Funeral Home, Berwick, with the Rev. Charles H. Jensen, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Berwick, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Berwick
