WEST LIBERTY, Iowa - Doris Banks, 84, rural West LIBERTY, died Friday, March 2, 2007, at Crestview Acres, Marion.
Service will be at the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services, Lone Tree. The Rev. Paul Ostrem will officiate. Casket bearers are Ed Masek, Dennis Starr, Clayton Foreman, Clayton Foreman Jr., Kenneth Foreman, Doug Crouch and Merle Price. Burial will be at the Lone Tree Cemetery.
Mrs. Banks was born Jan. 8, 1923, in Johnson County, the daughter of Albert and Vella (Brandt) Stemm. She married LeRoy Banks on Nov. 20, 1954, in Bloomfield. He preceded her in death in 1987.
She was a devoted wife and mother and also had a great love for cats and dogs. She loved cooking, baking, sewing, gardening and farm life.
Survivors include a son, Larry Banks of West Liberty; two sisters, Dorothy Kostman and Martha Sundberg, both of Cedar Rapids; and three nieces, Shirley Starr and husband Dennis of Cedar Rapids, Debra Foreman and husband Clayton of Toddville and Sheila Kostman of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
