Need information on Peter BANNER, who was supposedly a schoolmaster, b.ca. 1731 in England.

I believe he married Mary Elizabeth or Elizabeth WOOD of St. Mary's Co MD.

Carol Mitchell had apparently cited Dec. 8, 1754 as their marriage and I cannot find her source anywhere. Mary Elizabeth or "Elizabeth" WOOD was d/o Samuel Wood of St. Mary's Co MD and she had a sister named Susannah that I believe married William Suit/Suite/Soot and may have also married his possible brother Richard Suit.

(Still looking for proof.) William and Susannah were probably the parents of James Suit/Suite, b.ca. 1755 approx in St. Mary's Co MD. I believe he married Anna BANNER, who was his 1st cousin, as Peter's apparent wife, Elizabeth Wood BANNER was sister of Susannah Wood Suit (James' mother.)

I need any concrete proof on this family. The sources I have so far are Samuel Wood's will, www.stmarysfamilies.com; Peter Banner's will (online at the SC Archives & has his daughter as Anna Shute (spelling variation) and William B. Suit's 1826 will in St. Mary's Co MD where he names Elkanah B. Broadey as his "cousin." In Peter Banner's 1799/1800 will in Barnwell Co SC, he names his daughter Lydia Broadway or Broaday (2 different transcriptions) who I think was possibly Elkanah's mother. Inerestingly, a man named Elkanah B. Brauda shows up in Barnwell Co SC in teh early 1800's and died there in the early 1850's. His name is spelled as Broadey and Brawdey in some records. I think he was William Suit's cousin per the will. I also don't think it was any coincidence that Elkanah was in the same exact location as Peter BANNER.

Furtermore, Peter BANNER's son, Benjamin, (also mentionedin his will) DID live in ST. Mary's Co MD next door to Benjamin Suit who was probably James Suit's cousin and they lived in the same election district. Benjamin BANNER married Ann DAVIS of ST. Mary's Co MD in 1797 and anoter man named Hanson BENNETT also of St. Mary's MD married Elizabeth DAVIS, also in 1797 (were they sisters?)
Soonafterin 1809-1810, Benjamin Suit died and Benjamin BANNER and Hanson BENNETT families travelled to Barnwell, SC where Peter BANNER died and Elkanah Brauda/Broadey lived. (they went there between 1800 and 1810 and showed up next to each other in census records.) Later, a "later" man named Hanson BENNETT also married the granddaughter of Benjamin BANNER who was named Kate Gill (also in Barnwell SC).

Also in St. Mary's MD, James SUIT lived next door to George DAVIS who may be somehow connected to Ann DAVIS and Elizabeth DAVIS, but not sure the connection.

I am seeking information on who "Mary" was that was the wife of Peter BANNER when he died in 1799/1800. Was she Mary Elizabeth WOOD or did he marry a 2nd time?

Who did Lydia BANNER marry? When and Where?

Peter BANNER had another daughter named Elizabeth BANNER who married James COLEMAN in 1785 in Craven Co NC. This COLEMAN family then went also to Barnwell SC and she is mentioned in Peter's will as his daughter.

I also think that Sarah BANNER who married James THOMAS was also their daughter. I think she died before 1799 even though some people say she was still living and had children after that. She is not in Peter's will and Lewis THOMAS is also in Barnwell. I am still trying to find more information on her. But I think she fits with Peter's family.

There is another BANNER family in Stokes Co NC, but I have found no connection at all to Peter who came from England.

There was also a John BANNER in VA (Where Peter BANNER lived in the 1750's) who may be related as Peter's son Benjamin also named his son John and Peter BANNER himself was listed as John in an Orangeburgh ceusus I found online.

Peter served in the French and Indian War and the Revolutionary War--both from Viriginia. He got land grants in Orangeburgh/Barnwell SC beginning 1784 (Winton/Allendale)

Peter BANNER also witness a 1768 will of a man named David HELLEN in Calvert Co MD that was probated in St. Mary's Co MD where his son Benjamin lived.

I just need to piece all of this together and also find Carol Mitchell's source for the 1754 marriage of Peter BANNER and Elizabeth Wood.

Johnnie Brown's site, John Brown's Genealogy has that Elizabeth was born in Winchester, VA. I couldn't figure that out, but just found an old book that says Dr. John Briscoe was there in 1740 so maybe that is the connection(?) This was in a story about a man named Morgan Morgan.

Please contact me if anyone knows the source of where Carol Mitchell found the Dec 8, 1754 wedding of Elizabeth WOOD and Peter BANNER.

Thanks.
