Intresting my family is from Michoacan from. A town called San Diego close to La Piedad although relocated to a town called La Ruana because the goverment built a dam in that area I believe this was in the 40's in this town of San Diego there has to be hundreds of Barajas no exageration it took me 2 weeks to go to everyone's house with my grandfather when I went there about 20 years ago my grandfathers name was Macario Barajas Carranza he had 6 brothers and 4 sisters he had 10 kids 4 men and 6 women my father also named Macario had 5 sons I guess the last name Barajas will continue for many generations to come the last time we were in Mexico there were 36 grandkids and 19 greatgrandkids. From the research I have found it says that the last name comes from Spain but it was from Romans who lived in that area or province.
