who was this man ? who was his parents ? the only thing i have been able to find is during and shortly after the war....war record listed as 2nd Lt 10th va.20 jan. 1777,1st Lt 22mar 1777 , regiment desginated 6th va. 14 sept 1778, taken prisoner at charleston 12 may 1780 exchanged 14th june 1781 captain 26th may 1781and served to close of war . land grants.....4000 acres issued to thomas barbee for three years service ending 22mar1780 .benjamin harrison gov. warrant no. 241 recorded book 1 page 38 va. land office..... 12 feb 1808 1111 acres for 20 months
