I am also a decent of that SAME James Barbee. If you look at the Indian rolls they were actually full blooded Choctaw Indians! James married an Anna Williams whom was also a full blooded Choctaw. Her parents were Allen and Lizzie Williams. My dad has always told me that his family squated in Stanton, TN. to keep from having to migrate with the other Indians to Oklahoma. I hope this helps.
