Hi Val

I'm aware of the Barbery / Jolly connection but have not been able to link this back to any of my data. I am a Barbery descendant and around that time frame my family were living in Mevagissey & St Austell. Not sure where St Feock is in relation to this and with this additional info I can certainly do some background checking. Thank you! The names Mary & Ann feature heavily in my tree in this period so I'm fairly optimistic there may be a connection. My current hunch is that this could be through John Barbery (b. 1760) he had a sister Mary (well two actually, one died in infancy and the next girl was named Mary too as was the tradition then). you're on my radar now so if i learn anymore I'll keep you posted.

Regards, Neil

Hi Neil, I have a Mary Ann Barbery (Barbary?) b 25 Dec 1798 in St Feock Cornwall. She mar Francis Jolly and they migrated to South Australia in 1839 with their 9 children. Is this of any interest to you?
Val

Hi Gloria

I have no info relating to Barberys in the US. At present my research is confined to the area surrounding St Austell in Cornwall, England. I have been unable to find any information prior to the mid 1750s so there could well be earlier migration from England to the US that (so far) I have been unable to document.

Regards
Neil

I hope you are still looking on this board! Did Amanda Widner go by Amelia and did she die in 1877? I also have James dying in 1877. Did they have a daughter named Eliza Belle who was born Jan 1875 and married William Hartzel Flick? If this is, I have more info on the Flick's, and am willing to share, but would like info on the Barbery and Widener's. Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

Hi all, this seems like a small board in comparison to some of the others so hopefully I can make some new connections out there. I am interested in hearing from other people who are researching the name BARBERY in and around St Austell, Cornwall. I am particularly keen to hear from people who have Peter BARBERY and his wife Jane PEARCE in their tree. Both were born in 1806 and lived in the small village of Pentewan.
