My mother Gloria and half sister Vera were daughters of Joseph Barbin our of Louisiana. His fathers name was Josin Barbin, and the family resided in Lake
Charles for years. Joseph married Louisiana Rogers in 1913, I have a copy of the marriage certificate. They were divorced rather early, I am not sure when. My mother Gloria Barbin was born in Lafeyette. Joseph was a musician and played a horn in traveling band. He wasn't long on relationships. He produced Gloria and Vera in the same year. They were born just 2 months apart. They met at a fair when they were both five years old. Vera saw my mother Gloria and said to her, They tell me you are my sister. They remained close and Vera who is now 85 became not only my aunt but my Godmother. I still handle her affairs and she resides here in Lancaster not far from my home. I hope this will help.
