I'm not sure of the "John connection" All that I know is my grandfather was James Barcelona. He was a New Orleans Policeman in the 20's and 30's. My mother was adopted by him in 1933. Although in my research, I think he was her real father...its a hunch because of other aspects of the adoption.
In any case, he was an Italian man. Hawaii, I 'm not sure of that..He had a son named Raymond Barcelona, my mother's brother thru adoption. Thanks for your interest and do keep in touch

I now realize the connection between James and John Barcelona.They were brothers. All I know is what my mother has told me. She mentioned James having a brother John who lived in Chicago.
That is all I know. You may try looking up a Raymond Barcelona from New Orleans. He would be the nephew of John and perhaps your father's cousin. Your father John may be the son of John from Chicago and I believe Raymond had more family info than my mother has.
Its just a clue, but thats what I would check out. Happy hunting ...a good luck Dareal

Im looking for greg Im not sure if he spelled his name barcelona or w/an ne? he's about in his 50's lived in Caly in the 80's he's Indian Italian more so Indian he had long black hair at the time he dated my sister in the 80's she was 17. he was married at the time and has children. my sister got pregnant with his child he never new or if he did he chose to not think it was his.she had a healthy baby boy named Jeremy Fleming he will be 17 on the 23 of sept and its his last yr of high school then he will hit the Army. Im trying to find this man so Jeremy can see where he comes from he really doesnt care he said if I find greg or not but Its not fair for this boy not to know his Indian heritage ,where he comes from and so forth.I dont even know what part Indian he is he thinks Black foot. he's 6ft very dark golden skin and greeneyes he's the ladys man at school. he palys football and he loves music.if any one can help me find this boys father Id be so greatfull. I am Dareal Barcelona and I saw that John Barcelona appeared on your posting. I wanted to know if you knew of any Barcelona's moving to hawaii? Does the Barcelona name belong to one family? or is it carried by many different people? I am just really curious because I was in foster care and left my parents at the age of 4. I dont know of any living family members except my half sister and two older brother's that I have never met. I am 18 and will shortly be turning 19 in august. I was born in San Jose California. My father's name is Joe Barcelona. His dad was Albert Barcelona and his mom's name is Louise. My great-grandparent's were Joseph and Magdalena Barcelona. I believe that my great grandparents had 12 children which included my grandfather Albert. Their only living child is my great uncle Jack Barcelona who is about 90 years old. My great grandfather Joseph Barcelona is buried in Mission Santa Clara Cemetary along with all of my other relatives. Joseph was married to Magdalena and they had 12 children. Teresa and to Annie who both passed away within 2 days of eachother this year were married to 2 of my Barcelona great uncles. I believe all of the Barcelona's buried in Mission Santa Clara Cemetary are my relatives. My grandfather Albert Barcelona who passed away 5 years ago is inurned at the cemetary on Alum Rock Ave. in San Jose California. The only child left out of the 12 born to Joseph and Magdalena is my great uncle Jack Barcelona who is about 90 years old and he lives in San Jose, his wife was Teresa. I am doing a family geneology and I am looking for all of those related to Joseph Barcelona who migrated here from Italy.

I just saw your message and thought I would respond with a few questions. My great-great grandmother's last name was Barcelona and she lived in Reggio, Calabria. She married my great-great grandfather, whose name was Andrea Caruso. I thought it was quite a coincidence to find that both of these surnames are also in your family... I am trying to find out a bit more about the Barcelona surname. Oddly enough, and due to the fact that a woman changes her name upon marriage, I only became aware of having this surname when my grandfather died and I found it written on his birth certificate. It was quite an unusual surprise since I live precisely in Barcelona, Spain. I had already been living here a few years, having relocated from the US, when I found that Barcelona was also one of my surnames! So, I would appreciate receiving any information you might have on the origins of the Barcelonas.

Has anyone heard of these names?
Joseph, Johnny, Teresa, Beatrice, Annie, Sally, Adaliade, Bev, Fred, Manuel, Maria Basilia, Frank,Bernice, Charles(Chaleco), Lorraine, Hilda, Richard Alta. They're all from different parts of the bay area. Hilda was living in San Jose now she lives in the Modesto area. Some of them are buried in the Mission Santa Clara Cemetary some also buried at Oak Hill Cemetary in San Jose. Fred was born in Tres Pinos/San Benito. I know some of our reletives were very short people. Does anyone out there know these Barcelona's

Hey we may be related! My grandparents are Luigi and Mary Cerniglia Barcelona from Alia, Sicily. I had a cousin, Salvadore, I think, who moved to California. His last name however was Termini. It would be interesting to persue this.

My grandfather was born 9/9/1860 and died 9/27/1908.
My grandmother was born 5/25/1867 and died 2/20/51
