My name is BARCONS. I'm Spanish (from Catalonia). This name appears to be or Catalan or French. The most BARCONS are in the zone of Girona (Spain) but I have great difficulties to know about my name. It is not found in any place. 1) Somewhere I've read that BARCONS comes from Barkus (Spanish Jewishs that were expulsed from Spain in 1492 by the Catholics Kings). A way to escape from inquisition was changing the name. So: Barcus, Barkus, Barcon, BARCONS, Barkin, etc.
2) I found some BARCONS in France that could be familiar. Also in France I've found several Barcon (without -s).
3) Looking for migration I found a man called HORACE BARCONS that was born in Buenos Aires (Argentina) and shipped to NY in 1919 when he was 19 years old. His father should be Catalan and I wonder if there is any family of him in Argentina or in NY.
Could anybody give me a hand in that matter? Can any BARCONS or BARCON contact me?
