My 5th great grandparents were Bailey BARCO b. c 1761 in NC and Mary Elizabeth "Jane" JONES b. c 1765 in NC. (Her father was Joseph JONES, Speaker of Colonial Assembly during the Revolution. Camden County was formed in 1777 from Pasquotank County, NC.)

They had the following children:

1. Irvin BARCO. I know nothing further about him at this time.

2. Edmond Jones "EJ" BARCO b. 1 May 1765 in Pasquotank County, NC and d. 5 Aug 1867 in Leon County, Florida. He m.
Jane WRIGHT 9 Jan 1817 in Camden County, NC. She was b.
22 Aug 1804, d. 11 Jan 1862. This is the line whic I am descended.

3. Bsiley Jones BARCO b. 2 Sep 1801 and d.30 Aug 1976. He m. Amy PERKINS 2 Feb 1840 in Camden County, NC

4. Caleb BARCO b. 29 May 1806 in Camden County, NC; he d. 2 Oct in 1856. Died at age 49. Was a representative for Camden County in the North Carolina legislature.

Would love to know more about Joseph JONES...wife, etc.

My deceased grandfather is John W. Barco. He moved from South Mills to Norfolk Co., VA and died there. He was married to Susie Virginia Smith.

Great, im trying to trace my family tree, I know my grandma came from kilkenny, her maiden name was bridget barcoe, i know her mothers name was elizabeth, and she was from a family of 13. My grandmas brothers were called micheal, jack,patrick, james, george, andrew and daniel. Her sisters were kit, elizabeth, margret, molly nan. I have been told nan had 19 children. They all were born in stackley, graignamanagh if that makes any sense, i have never been to ireland so all the names are very confusing.Does this relate to anyone in your family, I would be gratefull if you do have any infomation to you could let me know me.

Hi Louise,
My wife believes she is a descendant of George William Barco. On his WWI draft card it states that he was born 1876, married to Annie and working for Lidia Creekmore in Princess Anne as a farmer.
She says George was married twice and she descends from the first wife. Can you help prove ior disprove this? THanks Dennis

I am hoping someone can help me with the Barcos. Specifically I am interested in the George W BARCO that married Rosa B Griffin in 1901 in Currituck County NC.
The marriage record says that his parents were Thomas and Ganny (believe this should be Fanny)

Martín Barco de Centenera (1544-1605)

Poeta épico español. Nació en Logrosán (Extremadura), aproximadamente en 1544. Cursó estudios en Salamanca y posteriormente embarcó con la expedición de Juan Ortiz de Zárate hacia Paraguay, donde se convirtió en arcediano de la catedral de Asunción y Villa Rica (1575-1580). Su obra Argentina y conquista del Río de La Plata, con otros acaecimientos de los reinos del Perú, Tucumán y estado del Brasil, 1602, fue escrita para competir con la Araucana de Ercilla. My name is Sue Barco del Rosario. I've been trying to find out where my ancestors really came from. I have heard about Barcos in London but I'm guessing that we are from Latin America, (the Phils., being a former colony of Spain). There's just literally, a bunch of us Barcos here in the Phils. We're 'concentrated' in one place-- that is near a former port of the Manila Galleon Trade (route: Manila to Acapulco). We're a small clan. I would appreciate it if anyone can give me some information regarding the history of the surname Barco or anything that will help me find anyone directly or remotely related to us.

the names you have i havent a CLUE (would need to ask my dad bout those) problem is there seems to be sketchy memories when I ask my dad about my grandpa's past. I DO know that he *as well as joe and rose, I am almost 100% positive* were in an orphanage when they were little.
I found out that there were my grandpa(Harry) and the 2 siblings (Joe and Rose/Rosie)from my dad couple yrs ago when i FIRST tried searching our name.
But he dosen't know much unfortunatly. I don't know where they originated from or how they ended up in PA in the orphanage. NOTHING:(
I have been curious about this for years and I can't seem to get much. My grandma's name was Katherine Mollis(maiden name)and if im not mistaken they married in pa.
if you might know any other places/sites... anything.. where I might be able to dig a bit deeper PLEASE let me know I would LOVE to find out ANYTHING.
I have a little boy now myself and it sure would be nice to be able to tell him about his family.

Yes actually... My grandparents are from there*not sure if originally but know they lived there for sure* my grandpa was Harry Barco and he was married to my grandma Katherine. They had 3 boys William, Ronald, and Bobby(robert)my father.

My Name is Dolores. My father was Harry. His fathers name was Frank and his mother was Clemintina. Brothers Eugene, Willie, Angelo. Sisters Dot, Edith, Lena, and Matilda. I think I got them all, because I didn't grow up with them. My mother and father broke up when I was 4 years old. I know it's been awhile since you posted this, but hopefully you'll check this in the future. We're probably related.

Beatrice, Dorothy, Matilda, Horace, William (my uncle), Stella, Eugene, Angelo, and Edith.

The name Rosie/Rose and Joe for that matter sound familiar to me. But I am reaching back into 30 years of memory which may be faulty.
