Hello:

Looking for BARDs from Sweden. My great-grandmother was EVA CHARLOTTA BARD, b. in Vaversunda, Sweden on 8/7/1879. Her parents were Karl Magnus BARD, b. 1833 in Granna, Sweden, & her mother, Anna Maria Persdotter, b. 1831 in Odeshog, Sweden.

There were at least 4 children in this family: Eva, Amanda Matilda, b. 8/3/1862, Emeli, b. 11/12/1864, & Carl August, b. 7/13/1867.

Eva immigrated to the US in 1890. Records show that she came alone. I have no information on this family, so I'm speculating, but her destination was Omaha, NE. There were maybe 4 male BARD heads of households in Nebraska circa 1890. I'm betting that one of them may have been related to Eva & that she came in via the east coast & to Nebraska, alone, because she was being met by family in the midwest.

Any Swedish BARD descendants, or BARDs who settled in Nebraska -- please contact me. I'd like to compare notes.
