my great grandfather was fred bardo. i know that he came to this country with a brother...whose name may or may not have been frank. there were several other siblings who came before and after these two. most all of them settled in the cincinnati area. i believe that fred came over here about 1905..but have not been able to verify that at this time. if you are still seeking information, please contact me at ldyblrmkr@yahoo.com thank you.

Bardo DNA group

I have just set up a paternal DNA group for the surnames Barto / Bardo and I encourage anyone from those lines to contribute. Bardo is my mother's maiden name, so my uncle contributed DNA for the purpose of comparison. Our family originates in the Lycoming County area of Pennsylvania: Montoursville, Picture Rocks, Williamsport, Wolf Township, Muncy Creek Township, etc. Because many public records were lost in past floods, it has been difficult to sort out the various Barto / Bardo lines and break through the brick wall. I would love to connect with some cousins through DNA, and compare notes.

My name is Denys Bardo and I am the great granddaughter of Levi Bardo, who had a brother named Washington, through Levi and Jane Miller Bardo's first son (second child) Clarence Bardo. The parents of Washington and Levi were both buried in oakdale, CA and were named William Bardo and Hannah (Boochard). I found William and Hannah and their two children in the 1850 PA census in Union County. I have had no luck in ascertaining William's parents.
Please write to me as I am sure we are related.
Does anyone have any information on Orrin Bardo born in PA born approximately 1840-1850. I know of his two sons Washington and Levi. Washington was my great-grandfather, father of Alice Jane Bardo, my grandmother. Thank-you in advance. (Orrin's wife was Fedelia E. ? born in Missouri in approximately 1850.)

John Bert Bardo and Agnes E. Arner (1874- ); Luzerne Co., PA

The Arner Family Association seeks descendants of:

JOHN BERT BARDO, Agnes E. Arner, 1874-____, Nescopeck, Luzerne, PA.

You are almost certainly descendants of Hans Ulrich Arner and Verena Eberhardt, 1735 immigrants from Switzerland to Philadelphia. Join us for an August 24-25, 2002 gathering in beautiful Lehigh County, Pennsylvania (1 hour north of Philadelphia). For “reunion” information or to see where you fit into the *rner family, visit Joe Erner’s website at www.geocities.com/~erner/gen/arner which documents the Arner/Aner family to the 1500s, or contact us through the Arner Listserv at ARNER-L@rootsweb.com. We’re planning two fun-filled days including a catered Pennsylvania Dutch luncheon and the dedication of a memorial stone in the Heidelberg Union Church cemetery to honor the immigrants. Help us widen our circle of cyber-cousins and plan to attend. We welcome you.
