My husband Ross and I have a newborn baby, we have called her Diana. My husband's father's name is James William Bardon, he is known as Bill though. His family has lived in Australia for 120+ years so there is probably no close connection to your family ... but it's nice to meet another Diana Bardon in the world!

Darlene,

In tracking my grandfather's history, Robert Francis Bardon, an aunt of mine conveyed a story that his mother, who we believe was named Charlotte may Bardon, died giving birth to him. He was married to my grandmother, Marylou Spencer Bardon. It seems like we might be tracking the same lines. Please contact me if you want to talk further at redbayfarms@embarqmail.com

If anyone else reading this wants to contact me about the history, that would be great also.

Thanks,
Brian

Catherine Bardon Coyle, wife of Patrick Coyle

It's been a while since we last posted on the subject, so here goes...

We are looking for information on a Patrick Coyle who immigrated from Ireland to the US sometime in the early 1800s. We know that he was in the US by 1834 as he married Catherine Bardon (sometimes Catharine, sometimes Barden), also from Ireland, in Syracuse, NY on 6 July 1834 (or so we are told). Their first son, Francis Coyle was born in Syracuse the following year and the family eventually went west to Illinois/Wisconsion/Iowa.

We are struggling to find where Patrick and Catherine came from in Ireland. This is our primary goal at the moment. If anyone can help us or point us in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Otto Bardon, in 1865

Otto Bardon, of the 102nd Ohio Infantry, is listed as a survivor of the Sultana.

On April 27, 1865, the steamship Sultana exploded on the Mississippi River in what remains the greatest maritime disaster in American. Over 1600 passengers, mostly Union soldiers recently released from Confederate prison camps, were killed either in the explosion, from drowning, or fire.

I am not related to this family, just passing on this information which comes from a webpage called "Sultana Passenger List." The link for the site is listed below.
Joyce

http://www.riverrockentertainment.com/sultana_search.htm

Hi, At this point I'm not certain how these message boards work, and it seems that I've attempted to reply to too many people in the incorrect way.
My family is originally from Coshocton, Ohio which is in close proximity to Youngstown, Ohio. Consequently, I'm wondering if there is a relation. My maiden name is Diana Bardon. I grew up in Southwestern, Ohio. My father's name is James Edward Bardon, and my grandfather's name was James Bardon. My grandfather had several siblings including, William, Richard, and a female of which I cannot recall the name.
Please contact me in that it seems that there could be a relation since Youngstown is so close to Coshocton, Ohio.
Diana

My maiden name is Diana Bardon. I grew up in Kettering, Ohio (Southwestern Ohio), but my family is originally from the Coshocton, Ohio and surrounding areas. My father's name was James Edaward Bardon. My grandfather, James Bardon, had several siblings one of which is named William, and I believe another brother was named Richard. At least one other sibling was a female, and at the moment I don't recall her name. Given the common surnames, and first names of William, Richard, and James I'm wondering if there could be a connection.
I hope that you see this e-mail and that you e-mail me in the near future.
Diana
If I remember correctly from e-mails in about 2000, Frank & Alice Cappy/Cappie (spell?) came from Ireland and first came to New York. Given that Ohio isn't too far from New York, I'm wondering if this could be a relation?
I hope that you see this e-mail and that you e-mail me in the near future.
Diana

I know that my family (Bardon) came over from Ireland and settled in Kentucky before moving up to Wisconsin. From what I've read on this message board Bardon's have been in New York which makes sense as so many immigrants ended up there...I was thinking it might have been possible that the family split up after getting to the states...or other mebers may have come across and gone to other areas....
What I do know...We came from Ireland...settled in kentucky before moving to Wisconsin. The Bardon's where one of the first settlers in the Superior where Richard Bardon with his brother, James Bardon photographed and wrote a manuscript to much of Superiors early history. I can pretty much trace the family from that point down to me... any info, questions or comments...just let me know!
Jade

Hi! I'm Sara's daughter, Jade. My grandfather (Thomas Bardon) has told me that the Bardons settled in Kentucky (after they came here from Ireland) before moving up North to Wisc. From this point on I have a good idea of who's who and what went on, which i can tell you about if interested....however...I do not know if they went through New York but it would make sense as so many immigtrants went through there.

Camp/Barden Bible found

Just wanted let the Bardens know that a Family Bible is being offered for sale. It was the Bible of James Camp b. 1840 in IN and Debbie A. Barden b. 1854 in PA. They were married Des Moine, IA in 1875 the same year as this first edition, Catholic Bible was published. They had a least 2 children. They ended up in San Jose, CA. The Bible is 127 years old and appears to have crossed the U.S. twice with family migration ending up in GA. Write me if there is any interest. It is also being listed on the Camp family pages. I am not selling it (nor making any money from it's sale) but I know the person who is and he is willing to "keep it in the family" if I find a family member who wants to buy it. I'm just an amateur genealogist with a sentimental heart. Thanks
