My grandmother was a Bares. Marie Bares born in New Orleans in 1867. Her brother Etienne Bares born in New Orleans in 1873. Their parents Marie Comminges and Nicholas Bares were from France, the town of Aspet, Department of Haute Garonne. I think Etienne married Margaret Getzman b. Texas, and may have used the name of Edward. They had abt 7 children including Daisy, Ovide (male), Edna (m. Culpepper), Norma (m. Mccaughey), Bernard. Lived in or around Vinton, Calcasieu Parish, LA. Etienne's mother is supposed to have lived with or near him in Vinton. Looking to find out more about him and his family.
