Pamela E. Barger died at her home in New Orleans today after a long battle with breast cancer.
Pamela was born in Manhattan, Kansas, on July 11, 1954. She completed her undergraduate work at Vassar College in 1976 and graduated from Tulane University Law School in 1979. In Illinois she worked as a staff attorney in the Cairo office of Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation and the Illinois State Support Center in Springfield.
After leaving Illinois, she worked for state support centers in Nevada and Louisiana. Most recently she worked for the New Orleans Legal Aid Society. In 1992 the Louisiana Bar Association honored Pam with its lifetime achievement award. Pam received numerous other awards and recognition for her law and cancer support.
