Classification: Query
Source: 1926 Annual Coal Report of the Kentucky State Department of Mines, pages 248 &249

Perry county, Carrs Fork Coal Co., Mine No.1, 1926MAY24, Grant Barger, nationality American, age 21, single, no survivors, killed by fall of slate inside mine, no inquest held

Slate is dark shale lying next to the coal beds. It contains impressions of the plant life of distant ages, proving the vegetable origin of coal

This is all the information that I have on this accident. A newspaper article or death certificate may have more information. See Kentucky Vital Records Index http://ukcc.uky.edu/vitalrec/ “Kentucky Death Records”
For example 191124 is yr/mo/day for date
