Hi there,
I have all the names of Joseph and Matilda Nancy Jasman's children. I did attempt to send post them, but for whatever reason it did not post. My grandmother was Julia Marie Jasman-Dupuie-Landers. I had met some of her siblings, for on our way to our farm in Atlanta, Mich, my father would stop and visit some of her siblings. They lived all around the area of Linwood, Pinconning and Standish.

First time visiting this site just out of curiosity. Noticed that you are relation to Telesphore Baribeau. From the records that I have, this was my father's father's name. I believe Joseph Edward Baribeau was the older half brother of Joseph Victor and Joseph Oscar and is my gggrandfather. The best I can find on their father, Jean-Aime's first wife, is the name Frances Duval. Any info that could help me out? Thanks, Steve

Hi mscalkin3, I wondered accross this site and as I see it you and I are cousins, for your grandmother, Nora Jasman and my grandmother Julia Jasman were sisters. Julia married Reme Dupuis and they had 3 children, which one died, and that left my father George and his sister Lillian. I have been looking for some Jasman family for sometime. From the Traverse City, Michigan RECORD-EAGLE dated 14 Oct 2010 death notices: "Douglas A Baribeau, 68, of Charlevoix. died Monday Oct. 11, 2010 at his home. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements were being made by Hastings Funeral Home in Ellsworth."

I believe this to be the son of Arthur Clayton Baribeau and Jessie Mae Tobin, my aunt and uncle. I have lost contact with the family and would appreciate any information.

My grandfather was Elmer Leslie Baribeau 1888-1946. His father was Joseph Oscar Baribeau 1856 - 1911 and he was born in Canada. Do either of these names ring a bell? I have a whole bunch of Michael's on my tree and would be happy to swap info with any of you.

thats correct....may 22nd 1888 death was in Wayne County on jan 22 1971 TOD 2:30am at lincoln county hospital of acute cardiac failure...she lived on 3965 high str. ecorse mi.
Fathers name was Joeseph Jasmin...wondering who Goege R. Dupuie because Depuie is my Grandmothers Maiden Name before she married my Grandfather Leo Samuel LaBean. George is the informant...odd

Been a while since I have visited this part of the family tree. Would that be Julia Jasman? All I have is that she was born 22 May 1888 in Alpena County MI, died sometime in 1970 in Detroit. Her younger sister Nora, was my grandmother on my mother's side.

I think most of the problem comes from the people who take the census, the made a lot of mistakes. There were also many transcription errors. I am a Baribault with a Grandfather from St. Narcisse who was listed as Baribeault & Baribeau.

Thank you for your reply. I did some searching of the records that we have and called some relatives and did find out my grandfather (Raymond's) parents George and Helen....But we don't know anything earlier than that. My grandfather was quite a bit younger than his siblings as far as we know. My mother (his daughter) never met George nor Helen or any of her aunt's or uncle's. Many were gone before she was born. My grandfather was married twice and in his first family he had two kids. One in which we still keep in contact with who is Keith Baribeau, my mother's half brother. He is in his 80's now, so a lot older than my mother. Anyway, sorry to ramble, but any information you could give us about the family before George and Helen would be so much appreciated by our family as they have been stuck at this point for years and years.

Ramonds C. Baribeau's parents were George Baribeau and Helen Moisan. They were married in the state of Mich. in 1882 I believe. I don't have the records handy right now but I can trace your Baribeaus back to the late 1600's when they arrived in Canada. Will help if you would like.

Hi, everyone, my grandfather was Raymond C. Baribeau and his parents came down from Quebec (i think) sometime in the 1800's. And settled in Ely, MN which is not far from the Canadian border. Anyway, he had 9 bothers and sisters of which he was the baby (10 years younger than the one above him). I know this isn't many details, but I am going to talk to some of the relatives and get as many names as i can. Maybe this will help some people fill in some blanks, as i want to learn about the Baribeau family as well.

I posted this on the St. Charles Co., MO website as well. Seeking information on a BARIBEAU family in St. Charles County MO. 1850 census shows JOSEPH BARIBO age 33, born MO., wife Adaline (nee North) age 25, Angeline age 6, Catharine/Rosanah ages 0, Virginia age 2. The 1860 St. Charles Co., MO census shows Adaline Barrebo listed with the William FLOYD household. The twin girls are not listed, only Angeline Floyd age 17, Adaline age 36, Virginia age 12 and Charles age 7. Joseph has either passed away or maybe gone to war? Any help would be appreciated as they disappear after 1860. Thank you! Rhonda

I do have some info on Nancy Baribeau. Parents were Francios Baribeau and Marie Anne Hebert, married 1846 in Detroit. Nancy was born Sept. 26, 1858,she had a sister Josephine, brothers Francois and Louis, I'm sure there are more but thats all I've found so far. I think I know what Francois Baribeau line is but no proof.

I'm interested in finding out if Pierre Baribeau was born in Canada. I have found info on him but nothing that says where he was born. I believe he was born in 1759, not 1761 which it says on his death record. The Pierre b. 1759 did not die in Canada by 1799 and there is no marriage record for him either. I believe he was the Pierre Baribeau in St. Louis. If you know anything about this let me know or if you want to know the parents of the Pierre born in Canada please contact me.

If you are still interested in the ancestry and/or descendents of Pierre Barbeau, I would be interested to see what you have found. Marie Louise Loiselle (Winchester), daughter of Victoire Loiselle, is my g-g-g-grandmother. I am descended from her son Loiselle. She died in New Olreans in 1839 and is buried in the big cemetary on Basin Street in the French Quarter.

I descend from the same line as Brenda, but I am aware of your line. Going backwards to Francois it's Louis Uramie, Louis, Louis, Jean Baptiste, Francois Antoine, Jean, and Francois. I'm interested in anything Baribeau but would really like to get some info about the Baribeau's in France. I've had very little luck with that.

I've got Louis Uramie and his wife Marie Anne Pronovost with ten children listed, but I know there were more from the 1901 census. also noticed that his brother Francois Xavier was in Saskatchewan before he was.

As I said I'm interested in anything Baribeau, would like to see some pictures, and a link to France.

I don't know if you're related either. I would have to do more research to find out. For now maybe you would be interested in joining my site.
