Byard or Bayard Barkley - which one is which?

Classification: Query
Surnames: Barkley, Moffat, Crawford, Haines, Griffin
Moffat (Barclays of New York, descendants of James Barkley and Mary Moffat) lists 2 Bayard Barkleys - one the son of Thomas Barkley and Sarah Crawford; the other the son of Josiah Barkley and Frances Haines.

Searching migenweb (for both Byard and Bayard) yields:

Bayard H Barkley, b 1812; d Apr 15 1885; married Lucetta (or Lucretia) Griffin, 15 Dec 1861.

-and-
Bayard Barkley, b 1815; d 1890; married Emily A. ---.

As luck would have it, both resided and died in Kent Co., Michigan.

Does anyone have sources or references to distinguish which Bayard (Byard) Barkley is the son of Thomas and which is the son of Josiah?

Any hints greatly appreciated.
