I am interested in finding Barkman/Bateman who went to NZ in the 1850's. I am descended from Catherine Bateman from Limerick - assuming a descendent of Abraham Bergmann, a Palatine, who left the Palatinate in 1709 and settled in Limerick. Family oral history has two brothers coming first to Australia and then moving on to NZ. Would love more information about either Peter Barkman born about 1723 who went to America 1765 or Jacob Barkman from Ballyriggan in the Castle Oliver area. Judith
