Thank you cousin for responding to my post.
While you do not give your name, you have clearly identified yourself as one I can definitely identify as my very own cousin...just not in the first degree.

My own roots come from Michigan, although I have not lived there in well over 30 years. So hands on research is limited to those times, every few years, when I can take a special holiday to visit relatives that still live in the area.

I am a grand-daughter of Galen and Anna. Andrew did migrate to the US from Finland and he met Ina and married her within 3 days. My father was Milton G Barlond. (son of Galen and Anna.) My Mother is Cora Ellen Thomson. I would be glad to assist you. You can reach me at mbarlondsmith@gmail.com

Hello,
I have been tracking the census records for one line of Barland's...
Andrew O Barland/Barlond and Ina his wife.
Andrew was born July 1862 in Finland, census states that he migrated to the U.S. in or around 1882.
He shows up with Wife Ina, born in New York March 1868.
The seem to have been married about the year 1888.
I can find names for the follwing children, but one child was deceased by 1900, name unknown.
Letha, born March 1889 Michigan
Everette born Feb 1891 Michigan
Galen born Mar 1893 Michigan
Wilda born Nov 1899 Michigan
Kenneth born Fall of 1909 Michigan

I find them at the following locations:
1900 Kalamo, Eaton County, Michigan
1910 Kalamo, Eaton County, Michigan
1920 Kalamo, Eaton County, Michigan
1930 Charlotte, Eaton County, Michigan

Andrew usually is listed as a farmer with a general Farm...
but in 1930 it says he is a laborer in a Wood Yard.

Son Galen R married Anna S.
Galen died 1 August 1974 in Calhoun County, Michigan
Anna S. died 26 Sept 1986 in Calhoun County, Michigan

Galen and Anna's son married my mother's cousin.
I am not a Barlond or Barland.
But I do hope that if you are..this helped you to further your search for your ancestors.

Florence Barland Fulton obituary 1925 - Tampa Tribune (Florida, USA)

"BARLAND - Mrs. Florence Barland Fulton died at 12:30 o'clock yesterday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hugh Vawson, 709 South Boulevard. Private funeral services will be held at the residence with burial in Woodlawn cemetery. Mrs. Fulton is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Charles Frecker, Miss Mae Fulton and Mrs. Hugh Vawson. Also by one son, W. L. Fulton, of Savanah, Ga."

Published in The Tampa Tribune (Tampa, Florida, USA), Saturday, May 23, 1925, p. B12.

Nicolas Barland and Philomene Beland

Looking for information on Nicolas Barland and Philomene Beland, my great grandparents. They were last found in Arlyle, MN in the 1900 census. At that time they were about 63 yeard old. Also looking for their marriage which probably occurred about 1858 in Iroquois County, IL. In Illinois and previously in Quebec, the surname was Berland, vice Barland.
