It may but I have no specific information for you. I had a Martha Barman from Seasalter born about 1710 who probably had brother named Thomas Barman and a sister Martha Barman. I was not able to find her parents and no mention of her in the Seasalter Churchbooks. I never studied them past the 1730's so I am sorry that I can probably not help you.

have an original Cabinet Card photograph of “Pauline Barman”, which I would like to get back to family members. Photo was taken in Chicago in about 1890-1895, and she looks to be about age 35.

I found a Pauline Barman in the 1880 census for Virginia City (Storey Co.) NV, age 28 and wife of Charles Barman, hotel manager, with a daughter, Marie, age 3. In the 1900 census Pauline is age 49 and a widow, living in San Francisco, CA, with daughter, Marie, age 23.

Email me at margerice@prodigy.net if you are related to the family of Pauline Barman.

Hi, hope you are still around.
I have a John Barman born abt 1838, Mariner, father is Stephen BARMAN, Labourer. John married Hagar STREET in Wivenhoe Essex in 1868. He died in Maldon Essex in 1874. Hagar then married a RIGDEN in Seasalter Kent. I can only find BARMAN's in Kent. So im presuming that John came from there.

Does any of this fit into your research.
I have an ancestor Simon Cooper who was married to Elizabeth. A number of their children had second christian names of Barman. As it such an unusual name I am guessing it was Elizabeths Maiden name. Simon was born in 1812. Does any one have an Elizabeth Barman born at around the same time in Ramsgate ?
Paul

I believe that my grandmother whose name was Gudrun Barman (born April 18, 1897in Kristiansund, Norge) who later emigrated to the United States of America had an uncle located in Canada by the name of Albert.Noting the years you mentioned that is a possibility. The Barmans I know of still reside in northern Norway in Kristiansund. My grandmother was one of many children, some of whom died in the 1919 flu epidemic in Norway. This could have been the fate of your family members you mentioned. My grandmothers mother, two sisters, and two brothers were all killed by epidemic.
My grandmother was the daughter of Olav Barman, who was magistrate or barrister.
I hope this helps you in your search

I am searching for James Barman who married Thomasin Choppen in 1629 in Canterbury. They had 6 children, one of which was Simon bn. 1637. Simon married Mildred Trining in 1663 in St Lawrence, Thanet and they had 8 children, one of which was Elizabeth who married Robert Harty in 1692. I am keen to get in contact with any researcher interested in the Barman's. I do have a little more information on the generations above James and much more on the Harty's too. Hope to hear from someone soon!
