I am currently doing research on Richard Barnard from Kentucky,he bought a piece of property from Phillip and Nancy Barnard.The property was in Fremont county Iowa,but they were in Atchison county Missouri.He also bought a piece of property from Jane Douglas she was listed as Holt county Missouri.Have not been able to link Richard with Phillip yet,I think possibly cousins since Richard also lived in Ill..(Land was puchased in 1883

According to the Giles Co., TN 1850 Census his name is Alferd Barnard, and the census record says he was born in TN, but some people say he was born in Kentucky.
Can anyone give me some source for his birth in KY?
Can anyone give me some source for his name (Alferd, Alfred or John A. or John Alfred?)
Some people say his father was William Barnard. Can anyone give me a source for this?
Some people say he died in Grayson County. I have proof that Upton P. (son) was born in Texas, and that his widow remarried and lived in Grayson Co.). Can anyone give me some information about his death in Grayson Co. I'd love to know where he is buried.

John Earnest Barnard is my grandfather. I'm not 100% on how he fits in but I know he, and I, are related to the men you speak of here. Hi all,

I am looking for information about my great grandfather, Stillman Forest Barnard. He was born around 1895 in Trenton, Nova Scotia. I've found a census for someone by that name with George E as a father and Mary Jane as a mother, as well as several sisters - Selda, Edith, Pearl, Lalily, and Girlie - but I'm not yet able to confirm if this is the same Stillman as my grandfather. He married a woman named Hazel Mae Marshall and had, I think, 10 children, one of them being my grandfather also named Stillman Forest. My grandfather married a woman named Joan Tanner and they had 2 sons, my father and uncle.

The whole family was born and raised in Nova Scotia, Canada. I hope this is enough information and that someone will see a connection to their family and can let me know if the census I found is indeed for my family, or if not, have the names of my great-great grandparents, etc.

My great great grandmother was Matilda Caroline Barnard.She was born about 1835.
She Married Joshua E. Davis. He was born 4 Nov 1827
Do you have anything close to information on these?
Their family was born in Tennessee in Claiborne or Hancock Counties.

Some of my Barnard family (males) seem to have come from Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk. I am researching Ada J Barnard,(nee Strange) born abt 1878 whose father is David and mother Elizabeth. Ada married to John (Robert?)Barnard born in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, England abt 1877.(or Dec 1976) However none of my current lists contain a Margaret.

I'm looking for information on my gg-Grandma,Julia Gertude Everett, her parents and her siblings. Julia was born 25 Aug 1880 in Kingsland, GA and died 17 Feb 1969 in Hillsborough Co., FL. I know she married James George Hickey, my gg-Grandfather. Their children were Frances, Lillian (my g-Grandmother) and Wilbur.
I ordered Julia (Everett) Hickey's death certificate and found that her mother's name was Elizabeth Barnard. It had Unknown Everett for her father. I can't find any info on them. I would be thankful for any help or suggestions.

My Grandmother was Lady Maud Barnard, daughter of Thomas L. Barnard. I don't know what the L. stands for. He is buried in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Logan County, AR., along with his wife Mary J. Barnard. I believe that George Washington Barnard was his Father. I found information that says George Washington Barnard had a son by the name of Thomas Levi Barnard born in 1862. That is the same year my great-grandfather was born. I would love to hear from anyone who could confirm this. And if this is so, I would love any pictures that could be shared. Thank you

Seeking a James BARNARD, or any living relative of, who was an Air Force enlisted party stationed at Scott AFB,(Belleville), Illinois in late 1950 or early 1951. I believe he was a radio tech. He was from New York State, New York City/Long Island area, I think, and would have been born 1930-32.

Do not know names of parents or siblings, if any, but the family is in some way distantly connected to a Higgins family of Decatur, Illinois.

I have just found your 2001 message board. Some time ago I realise but I wonder if you are still "hunting" as it were.
My Barnard family were also mariners from Rochester / chatham and during the course of my searches I found John & Harriet but as far as I know our two families are not connected but there are many similarities. I believe John & Harriet may have also had a daughter Edith Harriet 1870 -1873.
Would love to hear how you got on with your searches.

My grandad Edward Barnard was born in Havant? around 1900/1901 and moved to South Africa where he married my grandmother Beatrice Lilian Emma Barnard in about 1920 - 1924. My father Henry Edward Barnard was born on 20 October 1925 in Cape Town. My grandad had a brother Horace Barnard and I believe sisters - possible Rose - who was still living in Havant in the 1980s. I am trying to trace relatives in the UK, Australia, New Zealand and the USA.

I find it difficult to reply to a series of numbers and letters but in answer to your query Mary Barnard Niece is the daughter of Nathaniel Barnard son of Edward Barnard and Mary nee Gastineau and also to the best of my knowledge

Ellen and Edward Barnard are the children of Edward Barnard and Caroline nee Chater grandchildren of Edward Barnard and Mary nee Boosey/Busey

The Reid entry is unknown to me suffice to say it probably fits with the marriages of either Mary or Elizabeth Barnard daughters of Mary nee Boosey

Services are at Rollins Funeral Chapel, Rogers, Ark. After the service, a reception will be held at the Springs Club House, Rogers. Cremation will follow.

Mr. Barnard was born Dec. 24, 1936, in Kingston, Pa., the son of Samual and Angelina Coniglio Barnard.

He lived in the Bentonville area for 10 years. He is a U.S. Navy veteran.

He was a member of the Bella Vista Fly Tiers. He was an avid golfer and enjoy woodworking.

Visitation is at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home, 2907 Mulberry Ave. Memorials may be directed to First Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Barnard was born on Aug. 13, 1915, in Mercer County, Ill., the daughter of William H. 'Jim' and H. Irma Jackson Keating. She married G. Fenton Barnard on Dec. 25, 1939. He preceded her in death on March 13, 1986.

She had been a resident of the Muscatine area since 1950.

She was a graduate of Muscatine High School and the University of Iowa where she was a sister in the Kappa Alpha Theta.

She and her husband owned and operated the Barnard's Jewelry Store from 1950-1961.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and did volunteer work at Muscatine General Hospital. She enjoyed playing bridge, her grandchildren and family traditions.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Burmeister Ameche of Iowa City and Julia Carver Thorne and husband, Richard, of Muscatine; grandchildren, Anne Burmeister Bassett of Providence, R.I., Paul Burmeister of Philadelphia, Pa., Roy Carver III of Muscatine and Andrew Carver of Chicago, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother, William J. Keating.

George Barnard married Mary Newton in Great Cressingham Norfolk 1828, although his marriage says he was "of this parish" his birth is not recorded there. Any help finding his birth would be appreciated. Also interested to hear from other descendants of this couple.

DoD Identifies Army Casualties

The Department of Defense announced today the death of three soldiers who were supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. They died May 21 near Baghdad, Iraq of wound sustained when their unit was attacked by enemy forces using improvise explosive devices while on dismounted patrol.

First Lieutenant Leevi K. Barnard, 28, of Mount Airy, N.C. He was a National Guardsman assigned to the 252nd Combined Arms Battalion, Fayetteville, North Carolina.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
