BARNES Roanoke, VA &Southampton Co.
Hello, I am starting to look for a Barnes family and hope someone here might know more about them:
1850 Roanoke Co., VA. running a hotel:
Sarah Barnes 36, and her children
Elizabeth 18, Jackson, 16, Mary 14, Edward 12, John 10, Georgiana 8 (whom I believe is my ancestor...later married James Burke of Covington, VA.), William B 6. It looks as if the father MAY be Aaron Barnes. I found an Aaron Barnes 1840 Southampton Co., VA. Hoping I might be on the right track, but would appreciate any help I can get.
