Looking for anyone who is descended from a John Barnett and Catherine Hobbs who settled in Oakland Co., MI in the middle or late 1800's. There are cousins out there. Please contact me. My Grandmother was Sarah Hobbs Barnett,married a Van Gordon, duaghter of John and Catherine Barnett, they were from Northampton, England. John's Father's name was Thomas, and his wife's name was Gare. Also had cousins who lived on land close to the Dodge Estate and raised prized sheep. Lnow as Country Helen. They attended First Baptist Church in Pontiac. Also some who lived in Pontiac, MI. Most all of the Barentts attended First Baptist Church down town Pontiac, and the First Baptist Church had a Chapel named after a Barnett
