, Gary Lee Barnette, age 60, passed away Friday, February 4, 2011 peacefully at home with his family and friends.

Born in Columbus, Ohio December 4, 1950 to the late Clyde Jr. and Betty (Hale) Barnette.

Retired after 30 years from General Motors. Member of UAW, where he served on several committees over the years.

Survived by loving wife of 38 years, Brenda; son, Gary L. II (Danielle Magnani) Barnette; brothers, Greg L. Barnette, and Gerry (Billie) Barnette; aunt, Wanda Betts; father-in-law, John Daniels; sister-in-law, Sharon Reynolds; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

The Barnette family wants to express their love and gratitude to Gerald Boedeker and family for the gift of life through organ donation.

Many special thanks to the physicans and staff at the OSU Lung Transplant Center, and also Lifeline of Ohio. Friends may call at O.R. WOODYARD CO. CHAPEL, 1346 S. High St., Monday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where funeral service will be held Tuesday 11 a.m. Rev. John Daniels officiating.
