Hi,

I have visited your website and find it very interesting and extensive. I have not found much about my Barnick ancestors, so you may have given me some good leads to follow.

I live in Monona, Wisconsin near Madison, the state capitol.

So far I have not found a direct connection between my Barnick family and the Barnick families in Marion, WI. However, I feel very confident that there is a link between the two locations. My Barnick-Schmidt descendants married into the families of: Yandre/Vandre, Mevis/Mewis/Mavis, Gerbig/Gerbeg/Gerbich, Luther ( Kreitzman Jaeck), Hehmann/Hehrman, and Weber. Some of these families remained in the Watertown, WI area (mostly in Jefferson and Dodge Counties), WI. Others moved to Marion area (Waupaca and Shawano Counties) in WI. At lease one family moved to Madison, Dane County, WI.

It is thought that the parents of my Ernestine(a) Barnick were Edward and Ernestine (??) Barnick. She was born either 27 Oct 1827 or 1829, perhaps in Germany. The family was Moravian.

Hope this helps a little. I plan on doing more research in Marion this summer.
