James A. CARVER (b abt 1825, GA; died ?Llano Co, TX)
& Mary METTS (b abt 1818, GA; died after 1900 in TX) were
married 1844 in Telfair Co, GA and were listed in 1850 Ware and 1860, 1870 Coffee Co before moving to Llano Co, TX.
They had twin daughters Mary and Martha b 1845, who must have married in Coffee Co before parents moved to TX. Did Mary marry a William W. COOPER? Did Martha marry an Ashley or Thomas COOPER?

Theid dau Matilda (b 1848) may have married a James E. BENNETT. Any information on this family greatly appreciated.

Recently I did this Carver line for a lady at the church. I was lucky enough to "meet" online cousins of this lady and was given a 135 page research on this line. The only part of the research that I actually did was the branch that connected my friend's branch to this huge tree. This is what I have on James A. Carver. Hope it helps.

My gg-grandmother was Melissa Barns who married Henry Hogan Anderson. I found her living with James A Carver (wife:Mary Metts) in 1880, in Llano Co,TX. He claims her as a granddaughter, and it shows her born in GA. On the 1870 Census James is living in Coffee Co,GA and have an Addeline Barns living there as a day laborer. We think this must be Melissa's mother but can't find an actual connection. If anyone has any info on Melissa's parents or possible adoption, I would really like to talk to you.

I am a descendant of Melissa Barns. I have her living with James A Carver on the 1880 Census in Llano Co.,TX. He claims her as a granddaughter. The Census also shows her as 10yrs old, born in GA,and both of her parents were from GA. Melissa married Henry Hogan Anderson Dec 1885 in Llano Co.,TX and she died 2Mar1965 in Tulare Co.,CA. Hoping someone can give me a clue as to who her parents were.

your best bet is to look for an obit
contact the Tulare Co Library to see if there will look up an obit and fax or mail you a copy

the CA death index does not list a mother's maiden name so ordering her death record may not be helpful with parents' names. You never know that maybe it will ist her father?

This is not my family. I hope this is helpful.
