Hi Christine, our Joseph Barnum died 7 Mar 1813 and is buried at Congregational Cemetery in Bethel, CT and son Joseph was married to Cynthia Taylor 5 Dec 1825 and he died 25 Feb 1883. His father was Ephraim Barnum 1733-1817
Does your Joseph connect to Thomas Barnam 1625-1695? I think that most all Barnums in the U.S. seem to descend from this one man and his wife Hannah. Though I have recently seen some evidence that other Barnums, Barnams and Barnhams Immigrated directly to parts of Canada and the midwest U.S.(Ancestry.com Immigration and passenger lists)
Hope some of this helps, Lee Burch
