Christine,
Did you ever get an answer about Joseph Barnum? My great-grandmother Lucy Barnum was the daughter of Augustus, son of Joseph Barnum. Family lore says that she was related to P.T. Barnum but I have been unable to document this.
Lucy Barnum married Frederick William Jameson (no date, sorry). My grandfather, Frank Jameson, was born to Lucy and Frederick in Coal City, IL, in 1893. The family settled in Gays Mills, WI, where Lucy (as well as Fred, Frank, and my father Douglas) are buried.
Any information on Joseph Barnum would be appreciated.
Thanks,
