Hi Claude,
My Baron lines goes back to St-Pierre de Port, Normandie to a man by the name of Isaac Baron. His son Jacque Baron I (LeBaron) soldat, sent to Quebec, Canada about 1690 marr. Catherine Mesnil/Mesny/Meny 09 March 1698 at St-Francoise, Ile d'Orlean, PQ died 18 Dec. 1749 St-Antoine Tilly, Canada. They had 18 children - too many to list here, but that appears to be the beginning of our line. Unfortunately, over the years our BARON name was changed to Barron/Barrau/Bareau/Barreau/Barrow/Borrow through written census recordings and English/American interpretation of the French pronunciations. Fortunately, this was not always the case, i.e., Vermont, New Hampshire Maine the BARON spelling appears to be intact. Looking forward to your response. I can be reached at e-mail RIJOPERK@aol.com Thanks - Joan Perkins
