Belarmino E. Varoz Sr.
"Dancing in Heaven Again
With his Angels"
1924 ~ 2013
Our beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather, brother and friend returned to the grace of God on January 6, 2013.
Bel was born on December 30, 1924 to Benigno and Caroline Varoz in El Rito, New Mexico. Bel joined the U.S Marine Corps in 1942 and was honorably discharged in 1946. He was very proud to have served his country in World War II. He earned his associates degree in barbering in 1948, owned and operated his business Bel's Barber Shop for 33 years. Bel married Tilly Soria and together they had a son, Daniel. They later divorced. In 1956 Bel married Mary D. Lopez, the love of his life! Together they had eight children. Family was the most important thing in Bel's life. He also enjoyed family camping trips, gardening, traveling and dancing the night away with his loving wife. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He thought they were the cutest, smartest and most amazing. After retirement Bel enjoyed working at Kearns St. Ann's School, the children all knew him as "Mr. Bel".
Preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Denise Varoz Jones and Grandson Tony Varoz.
Survived by Daniel (Diane) Bel Jr. (Lori), Karleen Mitchell (Kim), Matthew (Susan), Michelle Crooks (Robert), Renee Varoz-Tuke, Ronnie (JoLynn) and Mark. 29 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, two brothers and four sisters, nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held Sunday January 13, 2013, from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. with Vigil Services to follow from 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at St.Ann's Catholic Church on 2100 S. 500 E. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday January 14, 2013, 11:00 a.m. Interment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 275 North "T" St., SLC, UT.
The family gives thanks to the Mt. Olympus Care Center and a special thanks to Carole with the CNS Hospice Services.

Eliseo and Mary-Adriana are listed in the 1940 Census of Minturn, Eagle County, Colorado, with their 6 children. . . .

Children are:

5. Bobby Lovato
6. James Lovato . . . . .

Eliseo Lovato died in 1985 in Minturn,Colorado. Not sure if Mary-Adriana died in 1998. . . .

Mary-Adriana would be my 2nd cousin. Her Mother was my Grand-father's sister. . . .

Does anyone know if Eliseo Lovato's Family still resides in Minturn, Colorado?

Antonio,Maria,Amelia were born of gregorio baros and marianita aragon . Antonio born 12/08/1927 was the youngest of the three. Marianita was candidas sister.Antonio married Francisiquita sandoval on May 25,1953.Antonio was 25 and Frances was 16.They were married in Greely colorado. They had 8 Children and lived in Denver ,colorado when they passed away Antonio was 74 when he died of colon cancer on 12/19/2001. Frances died at 75 of ovarian cancer on 01/08/2012. They were survived by 7 of their children.Mary Ann their youngest daughter died at birth 09/07/1964.

If U look @ my tree I have some Baros family. Unsure if they're directly related but many do come from La Cuesta / Villanueva. My grandmother was born there & her last name is Baros. I'm happy 2 see that there are still Baros's in the pold Pueblos b4 some moved 2 La Cuesta.

I am researching the Baros family in Villanueva, San Miguel Co., New Mexico. I have come across Mariano Baros and am wondering if anyone knows who he married or if he has children or parents. In 1860 he is listed as J Mariano Barrios age 50.He is living with M Feliciana Barrios age 39. In 1870 he is Mariano Baros age 60. He is by himself. Any help, I would appreciate. Thanks

I know your post is 5 years old but I am researching the Baros family for my son, so I hope you will get this. His grandmother was Tillie Baros and her family was from Villanueva, San Miguel, New Mexico. Her family moved to Pueblo, Colorado. Her father was Clemente Baros who married Aneda Villanueva. He was the son of Nicanor who would be the brother of your ancestor. Nicanors parents were Juan de dios Baros and Leonarda (I didn't have her last name until I read your post). I am wondering if you know the names of Juan de dios Baros parents? I have found a J Mariano Baros in the 1860 census born abt 1810 and am wondering who he might be?

Randall -- Dulcinea B. Randall, 90, a longtime Fort Sumner, NM resident, died Thursday evening, August 13, 1998 at Mission Manor in Albuquerque following an illness. Mrs. Randall was born March 7, 1908 in La Loma, NM to the home of Gregorio Baros and the former Candida Aragon. She was reared and attended schools in De Baca County at Guadalupe and Ricardo. She married Clint Randall in 1929 in Ricardo, NM. They made their home in Fort Sumner. Mrs. Randall was a homemaker and a member of St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church in Fort Sumner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clint Randall in 1965; two children, Bernardino Randall and Mary Lou Randall; a brother, Alfredo Baros; and three sisters, Pomposa Montano, Rosa Olivas, and Judy Griego. Survivors include four daughters, Vivian and husband, Frank Padilla of Santa Fe, Lucille Shupla of Aztec, NM, JoAnn Hurtado of La Crescenta, CA, Irene Ortiz of Albuquerque; step-daughter, Willie Mae and husband, Ted Schmidli of Portland, OR; one son, Josh Randall of Fort Sumner; and a step-son, Louis and wife, Marion Randall of Klamath Falls, OR. Also surviving are two brothers, Erminio Baros of Chicago, IL and Antonio Baros of Denver, CO; a sister, Amelia Sanchez of Dilia, NM; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchilden, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Rosary services were held at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, from the Chavez Funeral Home in Fort Sumner, NM, a second Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, August 16, 1998, from St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from the church at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 17, 1998, with Father Sotero A. Sena, Celebrant of the Mass. Burial will follow in the Randall family plot, Fort Sumner Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dennis Ortiz, Michael Padilla, Clint Randall, Bonnie Archuleta, Eddie Pena, and Greg Sanchez. How funny you contacted me….I was just looking and organizing all the documentation and records for this side of my family and was ready to load to my publisher for a draft cut! I will DEFINITELY wait for those pictures and if you send me your address and I have your email I can send you whatever information I have on your Grandfather COUSIN! This is so exciting for me to meet a new member of my family! Every time I drive through Carrizozo I think of my father Alcario, his Father Alcario and his brother Ralph who I spoke to years ago of course at a funeral and lost contact. Another time I stopped into the owl and had a beer and met some Baroz family don’t remember who they were but it’s like being home even when I pass through there. Strange feeling. Let’s stay in touch an correspond and I can scan and send you lot s of goodies for you and your kids/family!

Hello,

I am unable to locate any further information regarding Preciliano Baros (born ~1850) and his wife Placida (maiden name Lucero- also born ~1850). They lived in Las Placitas, NM and had many children. I've been told there is Native blood in either one or both of them, but I am unable to find any other information. If anyone has any information, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Related to ethnic Moravian BAROZ/BAROS in DeWitt Co. Texas?

My Great Grandmother was reportedly a BAROZ, according to her funeral record. (The informant for her funeral record and death certificate in 1937 was her 19 year old son.) She was reportedly born in Yoakum, DeWitt County, TX. There are no census entries for BAROZ during this period.

My conclusion, is that the spelling was mistaken, likely by her son, when he gave her information. He did not know the names of her parents, but she was of Moravian descent. There are many Austrian/
Moravian/Bohemian BAROS family members in Yoakum however.

I am trying to establish a connection to them, using more information shared with a BAROS family member in the YOAKUM, TX area.

My Aguilar/Duran relatives were your Duran/Baros.
Do you by any chance have a Pablita(Paulita)
Baros,Varras in your line? She was from CO.
She married Celso Chavez. They lived in Raton,
Nm in 1900-1920. Celso died in 1925.
Their children were Jose Luis, Helenita, Matilde,
Rosarito and Celso Jr. I really need to find a
marriage record for Pablita & Celso. I need to
know if he was previously married & who his first
wife was & whether or not parents are listed.
Celso Chavez is a very important figure in my
research & I can't go forward without knowing
more about him. Hope you can help.

Mr. Ernest Baros was born in 1919 in Colorado. He passed-away in 1977 in San Francisco, California.

His parents were named, Cristobal Baros who was born in New Mexico. And his mother's name was Cecilia Duran, she
was also born in New Mexico.

Ernest Baros' Grand-parents were named,
Emilia Baca and Jose-Inocencio Baros.

His Grand-mother EMILIA BACA was our Grand-father's sister. So, EMILIA BACA would be our Great-aunt from our
BACA ancestors.
