Barrs in PA an enigma wraped in a mystery

upon researching my family tree on my fathers side, I have become increasingly amazed at the amount of Barrs that can search thier lines to PA and then run into dead ends! I have done the same I have searched my line back to Samuel Barr born in Butler County PA april 17 1829. He married Sara Jane Vaughn who was born in Butler Co. PA oct. 25 1840. I have come to dead ends trying to find out who his father is. Furhter more it seems that there are many many Barrs in Pa at this time and they all seem to have similar names. My Father says that his Father always thought his family was from England... I can find the Barr name in Ireland, Scotland, and Germany. It would tickle me pick to be able to trace this side of the family back to its origin and hopfully find a family crest or tartan or anything of the sort. any info would help. I have my side of the family line up to Samuel Barr 1829 anyone needing info can contact me at barr20@home.com
