My forefather is Isaac Barr 1804, Britton's brother. His granson is named William Agustus Barr, probably named after his greatgrandfather. Willam Agustus or Prince William of Orange was the first Protestant King of Scottland, which would seem to imply that we are Scottish in decent. There is other family evidence that confirms that fact in the Scottish American settlements in America.
The enigma is Britton's name. In the midst of the American Revolution, why would you name your son Britton or Brittian? His granfather processioned land for the Anglican Church, but I do not have any other political ties that would confirm any English heritage.
