I am searching for the parents of George, William (b. 1885), Joe and Nick (b. 1888) Barra and Alice Bergeron (b. 1873) in and around St. Mary Parish in Louisiana. I am hoping to trace my heritage back to our country of origin and locating their parents will be the key.

I'm taking a gamble that this message reaches you (5 years after your original post). My grandfather was Charles Warren Barra (born Aug.1914/died March 1997). I've recently started preliminary research to dig into my Barra Family Tree. I would love to take a look at any information you found on William and Nellie!

hi - i am the daugher of roger barra of nyc...born in september of 1929 (i think) ...all i know is that he was in NYC foundling hospital most of his life (until he was about 16?)...my mom tried to get his records when he wanted to find his mom, but the nuns didn't budge...he is since deceased (1968), my mom passed away in 1994...i am an only child and would love to find my dads relatives or learn any information i can about them..

your message regarding roger barra piqued my interest...i am the only daughter of roger barra....he was an orphan at the ny foundling home (NYC)...we no no more informtion about him...my mom tried to find out info...but the nuns didn't budge...he was born in september of 1929 or 1930..any help would be greatly appreciated....

Looking for any information on William M. Barra, b. 1887, d. 1926. He married Nellie Smith, b. 1891, d. 1923. They are buried in Port Arthur, Tx. Had 4 boys, Frank, Charles, Wilton, & Walter. Great grandfather could have changed name from Barras to Barra. Thanks for any information to get me started.

Marina: I have the marriage record of Antonio Barra and Domencia Tepedino from Padula, Italy I also have the birth records of the children that came to the US in 1896. Michele(Micheal) Antonia and Maria(Mary my mother). Domenica died in 1902 and is buried at Holy Cross cemetary. Antonio is buried their also but a different burial plot. Henry Kozloski

I am looking for all relatives of the "Barra" family from Italy: Amalfi, Naples, Barra (naples suburb) and Sorrento.
My grandfather was Raphael Barra-an artist. He married a Murgo. They settled in CT. I am told that Raphiel's other family members have been associated with Shipping (marine) and the Glove business in Italy. Also, there was some reference to Corisca. There is also a reference to Dean Martin's mother. All of my known relatives reside in AZ, CT, CA, MD or KS. APPRECIATE ANY FEEDBACK.

Roger BARRA was a mistake, from what I have been told he was born out of wedlock to Viola Merritt's sister.

Information on this family line is very scarce. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Do the names Jacob Barra and wife Louisa Castanago ring any bells? His parents were Thomas and Mary belino, while hers were Joseph and Mary Coletti. Jacob and Louisa settled in Clay Co, IN and Louisa's sister Josephine and husband Peter Coletti did so in Ogden, UT.

My name is Angela Barra, I live in Brisbane, Queensland Australia. My grandfather (Andrea) migrated to Ingham North Queensland from Brescia Italy about 80 years ago. Not sure how popular the Barra surname is - it is a very rare name here.
