Jean Batiste Bara, Born in Jouy,Rheims, France baptized in Rheims 3/13/1700. He married 3 times after being widowed by the death of his wives Ann Pleine and Marie Barbe Pock (Poche', I believe. Marie was his second wife and their children were Piere, Jean batiste, Vincent, Marie Francois, Catherine (could this be sister?), and Antoine (the lineage from which my family descends. He arrived through Dauphin Island when and settled at Natchez (then called Fort Rosalie). After an Indian uprising his family is found at Bayou Sara near St. Francisville, Louisiana where he lived out the rest of his life. Vincent and Antoine settled in the St. Martinville area when it was called Attakapas. Both served in the militia.
