This sometimes happands as I'm sure you know, dit names are often the cause of this as is the fact that people at least early on aren't always literate, etc.
I'm having a hard time tracing my Barre line. See my last post. I found a record of a man named Antoine Lefevbre de la Barre and wondered if their was a conection.
Has anyone found a time, etc when the Lefevbre named changed to Barre?
