Hi Emily - are you still there?
I am trying to sort out another "Skidmore cross" family.
We have a "Skidmore Woodnorth" in Staffordshire, and we can't work out how he fits into the Woodnoth/Woodnorth family. It looks as if he later went to Waupaca Illinois (in the 1840s) where he worked as a tailor, and called himself Paul S Woodnorth. Can't find any record of his birth which in USA he gives as 16thJan.1817, "Stonebridge"- which would have been Stourbridge, Staffordshire, and we are wondering if he was illegitimate.
The Woodnorths were connected to the Barretts/Barratts by 2 marriages. There was also a father & son pair of Peter Woodnorths, tailors, in Stourbridge, for many years.
Don't know if you can help.
