Am looking for parents of Lester L. Barrows, b. 11/6/1890 in MN, d. 6/20/1953 in MN. Have found him in records from 1910 on. Mother's maiden name (according to MN death records) Kruger, but possibly Kariger or Kaviger. Wife: Evelyn Nora Johnston (possibly Johnson, Johnstan or Johnstone).

I am wondering about your Elizabeth Barrows if she may infact be my gg grandmother Elizabeth Clancy Barrows...Married William Barrows of Conventry England, which they had 4 children Lydia, William "Bill", Ellen, and John "Jack" Barrows of Leicester England? Her Birthday would have been Aug 8 1859 or and Died in July 1920? Elizabeth I am looking for was actually Born in st George near Bristol England. Anyway I do not know anything much about William Barrows, the barrows side is still much of a mystery to me and I was lucky to get this amount of information on them at all. I do know William Barrows was born on april 9 but what year I do not know, He passed away in England likely ner Leicester or even in London. I would suspect he is some years older then Elizabeth was. Debbie I think she might be one of those people you just can't find. The obit may have the name spelled wrong. Liz Goergen was spelled Jordan and Gordon. Only to find it was Goergen. So it could be Barros, Burros, Borroughs or Boroughs.

Salina She was listed as Mrs. Selina Barrows of Wales, Mn. in 1923 obit of her mother. She was listed as Mrs.Selina Burrows of Duluth Mn. in 1937 obit of her brother Joseph and Mrs. Salina Barrows of Duluth Mn. in the 1942 obit. of her brother John

Obit of Joseph Carpenter. From Rapid City South Dakote 1937. " A resident here for 10 years,Joseph Carpenter 52 (age wrong) 707 Sixth street, a former city employee deid Wednesday afternoon in the local hospital fallowing an illness of pneumonia.
Mr. Carpenter was born Feb. 19 in Minneapolis and had lived Rapid City since 1927.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs Mabel Carpenter; a son Howard 7; three brothers John and Charles, of Northome Minn. and Frank, Thief River Falls Minn. and three sisters,Evangline Doyea, Crookston, Minn. Mrs Salina Burrows, Duluth Minn. (Most places it is spelled Barrows)Mrs Elisabeth Jordan, (Spelling, Georgen) Downey, Cal.
The body is at Behrens' mortuary pending the completian of funeran arrangements.

I did find a Selina married to Frank Wilson (b. 1881 in Holland), living in Moorhead, MN in the 1910 census, married about 1908. No children. Nothing later than 1910 yet, though. Can you email me a copy of the obits you have? dkalina5604@comcast.net. That might help narrow things down a bit.

I have a unidentified Barrows/Carpenter combination from the 1929 CA birth record of James Lewis Barrows, but that might be a stretch.

Hi I have been looking for Salina for a long time . I don't have a lot of info. The 1900 census lists her at Salina Carpenter daughter birth Aug. 1886 age 13 Born in Minnesota. Her parents were August Carpenter and Mary (Susan) Morin. Some info states she may have been married to a Wilson ( Not verified)before she married Barrows. Most of what I have on her after 1900 is from obit of her mother and brothers She is not mentioned after the 1942 obit of her brother John. She is sometimes listed as Celina The obits just refer to her as Salina Borrows

Hi I have been looking for a Salina Barrows, the Only info I can find on her after she married Barrows is on Obits. Her maiden Name was Carpenter. She grew up in Thief River Falls,Pennington County Mn. lived in Wales, Lake County Mn. and later in Duluth Mn. I can find no death record in Mn. Sometimes the name was spelled Celina. I'm grasping at straws now, I know.

Franklin Austin Barrows MAY be a relative.

Heman Austin Barrows (1810-1848) was my gggrandfather. He had a son, Charles Austin Barrows (1836-ca.1892) about whom I know nothing more, but Heman's daughter, my ggrandmother, had a son, Frank Austin Burdick (my grandfather). Those names sound like there may be a connection.

I am searching for information on Isaac Parker Barrows, son of Franklin Austin Barrows. This family was steamboat operators along the Kanawha river in West Virginia. I am particularly interested in any stories about the steamboat life and about the death of Isaac Parker (possibly around late 1930's, early 40s.)

I am sorry to say that I do not have any information on a Joseph Barrows. I did not have a lot of luck with this surname because the family moved around and I do not know any living Barrows. If you happen to have any new information for me that would be great. The main surname that I was researching was the Bennett/Bates surname.

I am descended from Frederick Barrows who had a brother, James Parker Barrows, who was born in Thetford, Orange, VT on 17 Jan. 1807. Their father was David Barrows b. 22 Dec. 1758 in Mansfield, Tolland, CT and mother Rachel Parker b. 2 Feb. 1766 dau/of Zachariah Parker & Peace Ames. David Barrows was last found in VT & NH with Rachel but have never found a record of his death. His father was Jabez Barrows & Sibbel or Sybil Hall. Have further info. on Barrows family. Also have on file James Parker Barrows was married to Lydia but that is all. Hope this is your Parker Barrows.

Frederick Barrows b. 25 Apr. 1790 Mansfield, Tolland, CT m. 15 Apr. 1814/15 to Rebecca Lindly (b. 10 Apr. 1792 in NY) d. 25 Dec. 1879 @ 89 y. 7 m. & 29 d. Ward Twp., Clarke Co., IA cause of death paralysis buried Cox Cemetery, Ward Twp., Clarke, IA. I am descended through Clarissa's brother, Frederick Jennings Barrows. I have lots of info. on the Barrow line if you have not already found other sources and will be glad to share with you.

If anyone else is interested into hearing stories of both Jacob Jackson and of LaPrelate Barrows, James. A. Perham has written a book of the stories he has remembered from his growing up with his grandfather (LaPrelate) and his great grandfather (Jacob). Its called "A Tale of Three Grandfathers." My husband is a decendent of LaPrelate Barrows (LaPrelate is his 5th great grandfather).

b. 8/15/1905 in Arkansas, d. 11/19/1947 in California. Never married. Mother's maiden name listed as Matthewson. Father born in MA, mother in RI. Found in 1910, 1920 & 1930 Middleborough, MA census records. In 1910, living with family of Susan E. Williams (likely widow of John), listed as "grand neice." Last name is incorrectly shown as "Brooks." In 1920 and 1930 living with Edith (Williams) Finney (likely widow of George H.), identified as "cousin."

Anyone have a clue as to whose child Dorothy may be?

I was wondering if the William you have in the Joseph Barrows bible was born 1761? I am related through a son William W. Lots of trees state Ebenezer was William's father, but I am looking for verification. Would Jacob then be William W.'s brother? Thank you for any information.

You have probably gotten your info on John Barrows by now. I am fairly new to Ancestry.com. Found out in June from a truly generous person that my Barrows were in Maine until 1850s when they moved to Maryland. Phillip Barrows and Elizabeth Young and Ichabod Barrows and Mary A. Young. There are no Johns listed as their children but my names may be connected. Ignore if this is a brick wall. Or let me know if I can help further. grannyraine

I have a Heman Barrows born Mass. 1791 and ended up in IL/IN where he died in an accident in 1828. I have been unable to locate siblings or parents of Heman.

Your grandmothers story is hard to read, I hope they could save the baby. It has been some time that you posted so have you had any success? Let me know. I hope I will not be troubling you to ask if there is a Joseph Barrows somewhere in your research I know that he dies in the United Kingdom. He was my paternal grandfather. Many of your Surnames are for SURE family undoubtedly. I also would like to know if you know of the Barrows of Barbados? I believe that is where my grandfather met my late grandmother (Emmerline Holder) their son(my father) is Joel C. Holder nicknamed "Junie:. My grandmother died in the United States.

The Joseph Barrows I'm looking for was my fathers father.I know he died either 2005/2006 in the UK sadly before I could ever meet him and say hi!or Thank You and look at the beautiful and successful granddaughter you have by the mercies of God alone.
