I too am researching the Barrs.
My Greatgrandfather Frank Arthur Barrs was
born at Repton Park, Derbyshire Country, England,
in 1872. According to the phone directory
there is still a lot of them there. He came
to South Dakota in 1908 but only for 3 months
and then to Vancouver, Canada till his death.
He had 9 brothers all of whom are believed to
have stayed in the old country. One was a
doctor, Henry(harry?). He had no contact with
his family. He was a proficient cricket in
England and Vancouver. Wife-Georgina Lake
