Connie,
To be honest I haven't done any research ... I was actually doing some online 'name managment' and got the link to the ancestry.com website. I do not know a lot about my grandfather -- he died at age 50 when my father was very young -- but my aunt has done quite a bit of research so I will ask her and reply when I find out. Sounds like you are making a lot of progress ... that's one good thing about having a rare name ... it makes things easier to nail down!

I wish you all the best and will reply with more info when I can get it from my aunt.

Kristen

I am so glad you happened upon this! Another possible distant cousin to share info with! How long have you been researching? Do you know much about your grandfathers family history? Do you know who his father and mother were? Her maiden name and her parents? That is where I have run into a brick wall. I need some confirmation about who she really was. North Dakota does not have a whole lot of vital statistics available to the public. I would love to be able to go to the county court houses in North Dakota to look through their books someday but I know that will never happen. I do have a family tree started online that you can look at. I have quite a bit of info entered that I have found. I like to be able to verify all info with records and sources. Hopefully very soon I am going to get to the cemetery to photograph headstones to add to the family tree. Edward jr and his second? wife Francis Nelson( who may be the sister of his first wife) are buried in Newport, MN cemetery along with their daughter Inez and her husband Ray (my grandparents). Then if I ever get the time to go down to Mankato MN I will photograph Ernest and Sarah Cole Bartch headstones. If you still think this is a part of your family I would love to here more about their background and any info you may have. Thank you for responding, I always like to find new cousins interested in genealogy, Connie

I just happened upon this, but I believe that Harold Bartch was my grandfather. He married Alyce McIntyre and had my father, Dale Edgar Bartch and my aunt Valerie Bartch Oldenburg. They grew up in Michigan but his family was from ND.

I am a desendant of this man. I know it has been a while since you posted. Have you any new info on this family? I believe Edward jr, who is my ggrandfather married twice. Both times to sisters? Does this make sense? 5 kids with 1 sister and 4 more kids with the older sister. I can't find much of the info needed to confirm this from North Dakota. Do you have any background on the wife of Edward jr? Last name of Nelson? I have the birth records of Harold and Lloyd born in Mn. The other 3 must have been born in ND.
I can be reached directly at cbeissel@bevcomm.net
I live in Minnesota.

Connie

Mary's father William was born in Jackson Cty, OH also. His father, William was born in either PA or DE, still waiting for papers to arrive for actual paper proof.

Have you considered that Mary may have been born in the South? John Flowers (b. 1768, Edgecombe Co (now Nash Co), NC, his brother, Benjamin Flowers (my ancestor), and Henry Flowers, (b. 1771). John moved to Butler Co, Alabama; Benjamin to Attalia, MS. Henry had 3 sons: Bennett, William and John J., who would have been the right age to be Mary's father.
I don't know if Henry's family stayed in NC or migrated elsewhere. Good luck.

My direct line is Eliza BARCH who married James BLEEKS in Richland County, Ohio. I don't know her parentage. She was born abt 1820 in Pennsylvania and died abt 1890 in Dekalb County, Indiana.

My great-grandfather was George W. Bartch. He was a superior court judge in Utah. I have some information on him but not much on his parents. He was born in Pennsylvania. He left Pennsylvania and went to Boise, Idaho. He was married Amanda Guild and had three daughters. I would like to get in touch with anyone who has information about the family.

I am Herbert Bartch's daughter, my niece is Patty Bartch, I have records given to me by my mother that my father was born in Cabool, Mo, Dec. 17, 1885. My mother was Nellie Hornbeck. According to my records my father's father was George Godfife Bartch, married to Sara Burg. I think you are my cousin. My father had a half brother named George and as I remember two sons. We lived in Seattle. I went to the fourth through seventh grades. Green Lake Grade School and John Marshall Jr. High. My mother divorced my father and we moved to Pasco, then Oregon. I remember visiting your house two times. Once was Halloween. My brother was Herbert Bartch, Patty and Pam's father. My father never did talk of his family and I always wanted to know more about his side of the family. I live in Portland, Oregon and am 78 years old. My married name is Curry. I am a widow now. I have four "children" 58, 56, 50 and 49. Would love to hear from you.
